NASBIKE has gotten the dollar they're going to get from me. The prices are 20% lower because DMG has ruined AMA roadracing and fans are falling away in droves.

Did you watch Daytona, Fontana ? Some great racing best I could tell. Guess I'm not in the droves of fans you mention as I'll be at Road Atlanta. I don't see any reason the great racing won't continue there... Main thing working against AMA Pro now is fans that won't put last year behind them and admit that the series is now seemingly heading in the right direction. Your certainly entitled to your opinion but the AMA Pro bashing on public forums needs to end until given a reason to resume said bashing...

i couldnt agree with you more. Daytona and Fontana both had some of the best racing we've seen in years. Theyre HEADED in the right direction, and even tho DMG of last year shit on everyone from the manf.'s to the fans, Roger is gone, and yes theyve got a way to go, but theres no reason to boycot the series.

when the series is back then maybe i will be too, but they have a long way to go to rectify the damage that was created in such a short span of time (with mfgs, fans, riders and pretty much anyone who has ever even looked a motorcycle)...for now, ill keep my eyes on WSBK, MotoGP, et al.

Both of your are absolutely right....I guess I was in the mentality of thinking that DMG was going to mess everything up at a time, I am a person to give people a chance....This yr will be a yr to remember...Every race is close, seems like there is alot of action going on throughout the whole race...I am kind of excited to say the least...I will be there as well.....

No rolling starts. No safety bikes. New DMG head (David Atlas) seems to be making the right calls up to this point. Early days still but it looks positive for a change.

yea, Vesrah isnt racing with WERA anymore. Theyre doing fulltime AMA this year, Cory West is their #1 rider. Interesting Tray is entered for the SB race. I guess since its RA, he can FLY around that place with his eyes closed. Now im REALLY looking forward to seeing these races. I'll be pulling for Tray, for sure!

First two races were good, hope the close racing continues. Looks like a return to sanity so far.

I'm the last person to like anything to do with NASCRAP, but we need to support MOTORCYCLE RACERS as a whole. Its the racers you need to think of and that for me is the bottom line. Sure there is competition in many different venues and many different areas of the country... but truly the riders need us to show so they can attract the sponsors. I know AMA is just trying to make a mainstream show of this and yes it bothers me, but I have to disengage from the BS of it and remember what it was like when I was a One-Man-Show trying to make it in racing... every person who came by the pits and gave their support was a huge boost. I think in this economy, all we can do is give our support to the rider and think of that.

In another perspective... I don't think of the $1500.00 NSN taxpayer cost of the lexan window in the gunner door of the Blackhawk that would cost $15.00 at Home Depot... I think of the Soldier out there in the sandbox that window is keeping dust out of his face. :-)

The racing last year wasn't bad either. The officiating sucked, but the racing was still good. This year it appears that they have improved the former while keeping the latter. Eslick is off the 1125 and on a GSXR and is still at the front. He's won both pole positions so far this year and is second in points behind Herrin. With or without the 1125, the same guys are at the front this year with the addition of a couple more R6 guys and a 848. btw.. it's great to see Westby up there.

Going to a race is not just enjoying a weekend of watching a race you could watch on Speed channel! its about being there with the people who love anything and everything 2 wheels! Its about promoting our passion! I used to have to drive 8 hours to go watch an AMA race, and I will be at everyone I can! especaially now that i live so close! i have been to atleast 1 AMA race every year for the past 7 years!

There are tons of bikes to look at, stunt shows, venor booths, Umbrella girls, great people, and great food! i always wondered what people who live so close to an AMA race event thought about it... Sometimes it takes camping and taking in the full weekend to really understand!

Hope to see everyone there! Its one morte thing bike related to do! Dont get complacent about the changes to the series... support it before we only have Nascar to watch on TV and at the track! It sure would be scary if the only thing we had to go to was bike nights!

Off topic from the DMG thing but..

Reading up on Road A's infield vehicle policy, and I had a question hopefully someone would know

All unlicensed Vehicles under 125cc will NOT be permitted on the premises.
All unlicensed Vehicles above 125cc and personal Golf Carts will be permitted to purchase an approved sticker at the security office for $50.00 per event.
Does anyone know what the mean by unlicensed vehicles? I.e. literally unlicensed as in anything that doesnt have a license plate, or do they mean vehicles that are not legally allowed on the road?

I ask because this year I have my Zuma 50.. which is legally allowed on the road without a license plate.. and I'd *love* to use it instead of riding the SV around there. Plus.. $50 for an "unlicensed" vehicle vs $10 for normal parking.. wtf mate?

It is still $50. Sorry. It does mean, literally, any vehicle without a license plate.

If you're still buying tickets, I'd advise doing it today because the advance ticket deadline is 5pm!! After that a Saturday or Sunday ticket is $40 and two day is $65!

Going to be a blast, weather is supposed to be awesome!
