Looking for a set of waterproof boots.

I have used the A* Web GoreTex boots, like them a lot. Considering getting another set but wanted to see what else is out there and if there was anything better in the similar price range.

Only stipulation is that it has to have a GoreTex branded liner, can't be any other liner.

This will be for touring and commuting so comfort is pretty critical.

Thanks

I had astar effex boots for a few years that did a great job. I wanted soemthing cooler and nicer for summer riding so I have a pair of TCX Airtech boots now. they are a mesh boot but with goretex XCR liner in them so they are waterproof, but much more comfortable and breathable than any leather boot. super lightweight but good enough protection. As a matter of fact I'm headed out in about 30 minutes with them. :)

My Daytona's are waterproof and VERY good quality. But probably one if the highest priced boots out there.

I would imagine Sidi would make a good waterproof street boot as my dirt boots by them are 100% waterproof....unless the water is deeper than the boots, that is. :D

Hmm, don't think I can wait that long as I'm currently commuting in my A* race boots and it's getting a bit awkward already. Do you guys (Cycle Gear) carry the A* Tech Touring boots by chance? I'm looking for a place that carries it locally so I can possibly try them on. Unfortunately since I'm getting them replaced through GoreTex, getting them ordered into a store might not be an option, but I'll ask them to be sure.

I've been wearing a pair of TCX Infinity boots
I paid around $300 for them last year.
I was looking for a waterproof boot that was sort of the love child of a MX boot and a Touring boot.

Blake, I love my Sidi On Road Gore-Tex Boots. - http://www.newenough.com/street/boots/waterproof_sport_street_touring_boots/sidi/on_road_gore_tex_motorcycle_boots.html

They are a bit pricey, but very nice and definitely waterproof. (Well at least mine were before I burnt the two holes in them! haha). Anyway, I've been very happy with them. I actually have the previous version that was made with Sympatex, but Gore-Tex is much popular here in the US. Kith also has a pair of these Gore-Tex and they really hold up in all kinds of weather and riding. Even on the TAT when were were crossing those water crossings, I was standing in water ankle deep, and they never leaked.

I think I am going for the Daytona M-stars next, but those are even pricier.

I wish we have those boots but we don't :( I saw them at the dealers dinner and they are the hotness.

So Blake... did you decide on a boot?

I'm looking for another pair of boots that are not quite as Off-Raody as the infinities I listed above. I did have an older pair of A* Ridge boots that I liked for commuting, but they finally wore out to where the cobbler couldn't really fix them without costing too much, so I tossed them out. I ordered a new pair of these, but they are getting shipped back... they redesigned them and made them too narrow for my foot. I like the TCX X-Five (Oxtar Matrix) but it looks like everyone is sold out of them in my size and they are on extended back order.

Just now seeing this. I was going to try and pick up a better boot like the A* Tech Touring or the Sidi On Roads, but times are a bit tight on play funds so I'm just getting my A* GoreTex boots replaced with the same model.

If anyone has any problems with any GoreTex product leaking water, you'll want to give them a call. My boots were over 2 years old, saw approx 30k miles. Even though it was outside of Alpinestars warranty period, GoreTex warranted the material. So I'm getting new boots on the house. They do not have the be the same model either, anything in the comparable price range of the original boot they will cover. As long as the boots are not super-old or look abused, they said the warranty can usually cover it as long as it is tested for leaks there and fails.
