Alpinestars Price Fixing?

Here is my question. I would like to get a pair of SMX-5 boots and they are $219.00







EVERYWHERE.


Not one single source I have looked at online or in store has had any variance in price.

CycleGear is the same price as every online vendor? Horse-puckey.

Does Alpinestars force vendors into a "no discount" policy?

In retail its called MAP.....Minimum Advertised Price. Manufacturers set the MAP pricing for distributers in order to control their products being "devalued". Happens all over the
place and its legal. Places can sell the product for less, but just can advertise it.

Nope, not new. I'd just check ebay, craiglist, new enough for some good used ones or discontinued models.

Where are you located? I know a great shop that is local to me who has given me some KILLER deals. And when I had some helmet issues a few months back he went the extra mile for me and I came out with an insanely good deal on a better helmet than I originally wanted. He doesn't stock much inventory so you wont be able to try anything on in most cases but he can usually get stuff very quick and Ive not had a size issue but he says he can swap out sizes if a mistake is made.
