So, this was a very dry weekend, even a bit dusty, but not terrible.
I'm going to start with this video of Sarah even though this was at the end of the day. She had been doing the Spa day all day and had taken a nasty crash, so she was pretty worn out, but she was looking great here on the perimeter trail. My batteries kept dying when I tried to get her on Trails 1 & 2.

Here's a short blurb on Trail #2 before the camera died.
<object width="800" height="600" ><param name="movie" value="http://cdn.smugmug.com/ria/ShizVidz-2010012201.swf" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="flashVars" value="s=ZT0xJmk9ODI3MjE0MTAyJms9RFRGRUQmYT0xMTcxODI1MV9N bnFidiZ1PUJsdWVMZ2h0bmluZw==" /><embed src="http://cdn.smugmug.com/ria/ShizVidz-2010012201.swf" flashVars="s=ZT0xJmk9ODI3MjE0MTAyJms9RFRGRUQmYT0xMTcxODI1MV9N bnFidiZ1PUJsdWVMZ2h0bmluZw==" width="800" height="600" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true"></embed></object>
So now on to how our day started. First thing in the morning, I started out with Yorkie, Rocker, & ManHans. We headed off to Trail #7 to start things off and then we would tackle Trail #17.
We had a freaky 3 min rain shower that was just enough to get the lens of the camera wet, so sorry some of its blurry. There was another group of riders that were right there with us as we entered the trail.
<object width="800" height="600" ><param name="movie" value="http://cdn.smugmug.com/ria/ShizVidz-2010012201.swf" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="flashVars" value="s=ZT0xJmk9ODI3MjI3NDAzJms9clJIN0cmYT0xMTcxODI1MV9N bnFidiZ1PUJsdWVMZ2h0bmluZw==" /><embed src="http://cdn.smugmug.com/ria/ShizVidz-2010012201.swf" flashVars="s=ZT0xJmk9ODI3MjI3NDAzJms9clJIN0cmYT0xMTcxODI1MV9N bnFidiZ1PUJsdWVMZ2h0bmluZw==" width="800" height="600" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true"></embed></object>
This one is pretty blury, but I think I clean the lens into it. More of trail #7.

After #7, we headed to #17. Unfortunately in the beginning, my camera was on photo mode, so I got lots of pics and no video. I won't bore you with those, so we'll start where I have video. If you haven't been on 17 in awhile, there is a pretty good downhill tree to navigate. It's a bit interesting and intimidating. Let's start there.
<object width="800" height="600" ><param name="movie" value="http://cdn.smugmug.com/ria/ShizVidz-2010012201.swf" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="flashVars" value="s=ZT0xJmk9ODI3MTk5MTYyJms9NHA0RkomYT0xMTcxODI1MV9N bnFidiZ1PUJsdWVMZ2h0bmluZw==" /><embed src="http://cdn.smugmug.com/ria/ShizVidz-2010012201.swf" flashVars="s=ZT0xJmk9ODI3MTk5MTYyJms9NHA0RkomYT0xMTcxODI1MV9N bnFidiZ1PUJsdWVMZ2h0bmluZw==" width="800" height="600" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true"></embed></object>
Paul started off here with a little fall off camera. We continue down the trail
<object width="800" height="600" ><param name="movie" value="http://cdn.smugmug.com/ria/ShizVidz-2010012201.swf" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="flashVars" value="s=ZT0xJmk9ODI3MjA2NjE0Jms9VlB0WFMmYT0xMTcxODI1MV9N bnFidiZ1PUJsdWVMZ2h0bmluZw==" /><embed src="http://cdn.smugmug.com/ria/ShizVidz-2010012201.swf" flashVars="s=ZT0xJmk9ODI3MjA2NjE0Jms9VlB0WFMmYT0xMTcxODI1MV9N bnFidiZ1PUJsdWVMZ2h0bmluZw==" width="800" height="600" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true"></embed></object>
As we move on, this is the big tree you can go over or go around. Yorkie goes over fine. I give it a shot, but get stuck and then get over. ManHans takes a nice hit on his pipe and Paul decides going around is safer! haha
<object width="800" height="600" ><param name="movie" value="http://cdn.smugmug.com/ria/ShizVidz-2010012201.swf" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="flashVars" value="s=ZT0xJmk9ODI3MjEyNzUwJms9YWg3czUmYT0xMTcxODI1MV9N bnFidiZ1PUJsdWVMZ2h0bmluZw==" /><embed src="http://cdn.smugmug.com/ria/ShizVidz-2010012201.swf" flashVars="s=ZT0xJmk9ODI3MjEyNzUwJms9YWg3czUmYT0xMTcxODI1MV9N bnFidiZ1PUJsdWVMZ2h0bmluZw==" width="800" height="600" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true"></embed></object>
Next we have Yorkie's wipe out. He had a very close encounter with some important body parts and with him in the fetal position, I was thinking he was pretty hurt. Since his bike was still running, I drop mine to shut off his and then me leaving Man Hans with no where to go but back down the hill! LOL, 3 of us on the ground as Paul watches from the sidelines. LOL
<object width="800" height="600" ><param name="movie" value="http://cdn.smugmug.com/ria/ShizVidz-2010012201.swf" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="flashVars" value="s=ZT0xJmk9ODI2OTIzOTQzJms9V0c1YXUmYT0xMTcxODI1MV9N bnFidiZ1PUJsdWVMZ2h0bmluZw==" /><embed src="http://cdn.smugmug.com/ria/ShizVidz-2010012201.swf" flashVars="s=ZT0xJmk9ODI2OTIzOTQzJms9V0c1YXUmYT0xMTcxODI1MV9N bnFidiZ1PUJsdWVMZ2h0bmluZw==" width="800" height="600" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true"></embed></object>

As we move on, Yorkie's holding us up again! ManHans lets him know that's not acceptable! haha
<object width="800" height="600" ><param name="movie" value="http://cdn.smugmug.com/ria/ShizVidz-2010012201.swf" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="flashVars" value="s=ZT0xJmk9ODI2OTQwMzY1Jms9YlFKTHomYT0xMTcxODI1MV9N bnFidiZ1PUJsdWVMZ2h0bmluZw==" /><embed src="http://cdn.smugmug.com/ria/ShizVidz-2010012201.swf" flashVars="s=ZT0xJmk9ODI2OTQwMzY1Jms9YlFKTHomYT0xMTcxODI1MV9N bnFidiZ1PUJsdWVMZ2h0bmluZw==" width="800" height="600" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true"></embed></object>
Okay, now let's go play at the big hill! Yorkie's first attempt.
<object width="800" height="600" ><param name="movie" value="http://cdn.smugmug.com/ria/ShizVidz-2010012201.swf" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="flashVars" value="s=ZT0xJmk9ODI2OTU1ODQzJms9aW1ibnImYT0xMTcxODI1MV9N bnFidiZ1PUJsdWVMZ2h0bmluZw==" /><embed src="http://cdn.smugmug.com/ria/ShizVidz-2010012201.swf" flashVars="s=ZT0xJmk9ODI2OTU1ODQzJms9aW1ibnImYT0xMTcxODI1MV9N bnFidiZ1PUJsdWVMZ2h0bmluZw==" width="800" height="600" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true"></embed></object>
Yorkie's 2nd attempt with a pretty nice exit and then my attempt. Hmm, why did I follow him? Then ManHan's comes down and tries his luck. I didn't know tree's where dirty little horrors! :crackup:
<object width="800" height="600" ><param name="movie" value="http://cdn.smugmug.com/ria/ShizVidz-2010012201.swf" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="flashVars" value="s=ZT0xJmk9ODI2OTc0Nzg4Jms9ZVlBangmYT0xMTcxODI1MV9N bnFidiZ1PUJsdWVMZ2h0bmluZw==" /><embed src="http://cdn.smugmug.com/ria/ShizVidz-2010012201.swf" flashVars="s=ZT0xJmk9ODI2OTc0Nzg4Jms9ZVlBangmYT0xMTcxODI1MV9N bnFidiZ1PUJsdWVMZ2h0bmluZw==" width="800" height="600" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true"></embed></object>
I go back up the hill to get a better run. ManHan's gives it another shot also. Paul is still watching the carnage!
<object width="800" height="600" ><param name="movie" value="http://cdn.smugmug.com/ria/ShizVidz-2010012201.swf" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="flashVars" value="s=ZT0xJmk9ODI2OTgwMjMyJms9Nmtjc2EmYT0xMTcxODI1MV9N bnFidiZ1PUJsdWVMZ2h0bmluZw==" /><embed src="http://cdn.smugmug.com/ria/ShizVidz-2010012201.swf" flashVars="s=ZT0xJmk9ODI2OTgwMjMyJms9Nmtjc2EmYT0xMTcxODI1MV9N bnFidiZ1PUJsdWVMZ2h0bmluZw==" width="800" height="600" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true"></embed></object>

Now its my turn to try Hill #17 again. I started to loose my momentum, but I modulated the clutch and stuck with it. It wasn't pretty, but I made it!
<object width="800" height="600" ><param name="movie" value="http://cdn.smugmug.com/ria/ShizVidz-2010012201.swf" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="flashVars" value="s=ZT0xJmk9ODI2OTk5NDkxJms9ZGFiWVgmYT0xMTcxODI1MV9N bnFidiZ1PUJsdWVMZ2h0bmluZw==" /><embed src="http://cdn.smugmug.com/ria/ShizVidz-2010012201.swf" flashVars="s=ZT0xJmk9ODI2OTk5NDkxJms9ZGFiWVgmYT0xMTcxODI1MV9N bnFidiZ1PUJsdWVMZ2h0bmluZw==" width="800" height="600" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true"></embed></object>
Since I was at the top, I took my hand held camera and went to go set up camp and get Yorkie trying it again.
<object width="800" height="600" ><param name="movie" value="http://cdn.smugmug.com/ria/ShizVidz-2010012201.swf" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="flashVars" value="s=ZT0xJmk9ODI2OTA2MjE5Jms9V2NMODkmYT0xMTcxODI1MV9N bnFidiZ1PUJsdWVMZ2h0bmluZw==" /><embed src="http://cdn.smugmug.com/ria/ShizVidz-2010012201.swf" flashVars="s=ZT0xJmk9ODI2OTA2MjE5Jms9V2NMODkmYT0xMTcxODI1MV9N bnFidiZ1PUJsdWVMZ2h0bmluZw==" width="800" height="600" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true"></embed></object>
Yorkie's Alice and Wonderland attempt. He had a great run, but that tree just reached out and grabbed him. This has to be one of the most graceful dismounts! haha
<object width="800" height="600" ><param name="movie" value="http://cdn.smugmug.com/ria/ShizVidz-2010012201.swf" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="flashVars" value="s=ZT0xJmk9ODI2OTA4NTI5Jms9SEtLQXAmYT0xMTcxODI1MV9N bnFidiZ1PUJsdWVMZ2h0bmluZw==" /><embed src="http://cdn.smugmug.com/ria/ShizVidz-2010012201.swf" flashVars="s=ZT0xJmk9ODI2OTA4NTI5Jms9SEtLQXAmYT0xMTcxODI1MV9N bnFidiZ1PUJsdWVMZ2h0bmluZw==" width="800" height="600" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true"></embed></object>
Yorkie's last attempt on 17. He was pretty beat by now and his bike wasn't wanting to start very well. This one took both of us to get it out of the tree.
<object width="800" height="600" ><param name="movie" value="http://cdn.smugmug.com/ria/ShizVidz-2010012201.swf" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="flashVars" value="s=ZT0xJmk9ODI2OTA2MjE5Jms9V2NMODkmYT0xMTcxODI1MV9N bnFidiZ1PUJsdWVMZ2h0bmluZw==" /><embed src="http://cdn.smugmug.com/ria/ShizVidz-2010012201.swf" flashVars="s=ZT0xJmk9ODI2OTA2MjE5Jms9V2NMODkmYT0xMTcxODI1MV9N bnFidiZ1PUJsdWVMZ2h0bmluZw==" width="800" height="600" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true"></embed></object>

Okay, on with the videos.
After 17, Yorkie and Rocker decided they were heading back to the parking lot. Man Hans and I headed off to the outside perimeter.
First trail was #28 to cool off and relax a bit
<object width="800" height="600" ><param name="movie" value="http://cdn.smugmug.com/ria/ShizVidz-2010012201.swf" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="flashVars" value="s=ZT0xJmk9ODI3MDE4NjI1Jms9TW9BbW0mYT0xMTcxODI1MV9N bnFidiZ1PUJsdWVMZ2h0bmluZw==" /><embed src="http://cdn.smugmug.com/ria/ShizVidz-2010012201.swf" flashVars="s=ZT0xJmk9ODI3MDE4NjI1Jms9TW9BbW0mYT0xMTcxODI1MV9N bnFidiZ1PUJsdWVMZ2h0bmluZw==" width="800" height="600" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true"></embed></object>
My batteries started to die after that, so just got little snipits. I hate that we missed #24 as Man Hans had a good wipe out on there that was pretty good.
I changed the batteries and we headed off to Trail #8. Pretty uneventful, but a nice run. Man Hans and I are pretty close speed wise. We pretty much can run neck and neck most of the time and that makes it fun to ride with him.
<object width="800" height="600" ><param name="movie" value="http://cdn.smugmug.com/ria/ShizVidz-2010012201.swf" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="flashVars" value="s=ZT0xJmk9ODI3MDUxMTY0Jms9aE5vUTkmYT0xMTcxODI1MV9N bnFidiZ1PUJsdWVMZ2h0bmluZw==" /><embed src="http://cdn.smugmug.com/ria/ShizVidz-2010012201.swf" flashVars="s=ZT0xJmk9ODI3MDUxMTY0Jms9aE5vUTkmYT0xMTcxODI1MV9N bnFidiZ1PUJsdWVMZ2h0bmluZw==" width="800" height="600" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true"></embed></object>
I'm working on some slow motion videos for the next part staring ManHans! :D

After #8, we were off to #12. This is one of my favorite trails to challenge myself in the tight turns in the beginning. I really enjoying trying to get faster and smoother on the first part of this trail. ManHans has a really close up with a tree at :57 mins. Before I show the whole video, let's take a couple snap shots.
So, we see Mike (pretty out of control) and a tree dead ahead. Do you think he hits it?
http://bluelghtning.smugmug.com/Motorcycle-Trips-and-Travels/ORV-Parks-Gallery/2010-04-03-HP-Dan-Yorkie/ManHans121/828410931_vY5E3-L.jpg
Next shot. Hmm, not looking good

Whew, looks like a dead on head collision has been avoided, but is his momentum still carrying him towards it?

Okay, after 12, we headed straight into 15 without stopping. We were a pretty good ways in when ManHans decided to play in the tree's again!
So let's check out the pics of this one first!
I think this was a small wheelie hop that went bad?

I went back to the truck for lunch and met up with Chase and West #10. We headed off to #28 and on the way there we had another one of those freaky 5 min rain showers that left everything slick for 5 mins. Chase found a spot just as we hit 28. Right after 28, we went into 31. People are finally making a few shortcuts to get around the bad areas.

Next on the list was #24. This had pretty much become a rutted nightmare. Paul ran the dozer through it and although its relatively wider, it was soft dirt that was still challenging and actually a blast to run pretty fast.

Next up is Trail #26. I was leading this one with Chase and West#10 behind me. This is a pretty decent single track I enjoy quite a bit and this was a decent run other then when a branch knocked my goggles off and I had to stop to fix them. There are a few bad ruts in here, but most you can enjoy and you can see me jumping back and forth over the big rut.

After trail #26, I was following Chase and West#10 onto 8. I had already ran 8 twice that day, so I'm familiar with it. I got a bit of a slow start, so I was pushing to try and keep up. In the down hill right hander, I swung too far right and wash the front over the berm. Let's take a look at this picture sequence.
Only tell tale sign here is that my right hand bark buster is not very level with the ground! :)

The full video from #8 above and you can hear me moaning and groaning on the ground for awhile! LOL

After I recovered from my crash on #8, I was resting out on the perimeter trail. Chase and West were headed back to the parking lot. Chrispy Cracker showed up and him and I made some runs. I was running out of space on the card, so I only got the following video on trail #12. I had fun riding with Chris and awe also seem to be pretty close in speed/talent. We swapped bikes on 23 & 16 and had a good time.

That's it till next time!
