My brother in law may have found a GSXR that he is going to trade for. I wanted to check on here with you guys to see if there are model specific items to the 02 model GSXR 600 that I need to be aware of and can pass along to him.

Looking for as much insight as I can to pass along to him. (similar to the R/R's & CCT issues of the CBR's and VTR Hondas)

what are the specs(miles, condition, wrecks, etc?) Whats he trading for it? As far as i know they were pretty solid bikes.

It is a 2002 model with 19,000 on it. I have seen pics of the bike and the thing looks spotless. I was impressed with what I have seen of it. I have always been under the impression they are very solid bikes as well but wanted to double check to see if there are any issues that are common on the GSXR's that I could pass along to make him aware of.

He is trading his 2003 Honda Shadow Spirit 750 even to this guy that wants to move into a cruiser.

My 03 has been pretty reliable, about 50k so far and some of those miles were pretty brutal. I had a voltage regulator die on me, but the failed one had a re-wired pigtail from the previous owner so I can't say for sure if it was the bike's fault or not.

Man that is a mint GSXR tho

Yeah I was impressed with it. It is super clean. I have found some posts just by using Google about some CCT issues. Sounds like from what you said and what I have read they seem to have the same issues that riders need to be aware of as the CBR lines and my SuperHawk, CCT's and R/R units.

Thanks for your help guys. I think he made the deal with the guy today and they are trading even as soon as the weather warms up in OH and he can go get the bike. I can't wait, you know I got to ride it to make sure everything is ok on it for him!! ;)
