2800 Acres! (For comparison, HP is only about 1k acres and I don't think its all being used). I don't know what their trail setup is, but it sounds cool. It might be worth checking out this Saturday.

Just when you thought you had enough choices to ride . . . .

FREEE FOOOD! ::applause:: AND DRINK! ::cheers::

Date: Tue, 23 Feb 2010 11:09:52 -0600

We, Cheaha Trail Riders, Inc., would like to invite you to be our guest at our next ride which will be held at the Coosa River Storage Annex/Brecon Annex/TMARC this Saturday February 27 beginning at 9AM. There is no cost for the ride or the meal, so bring your friends and family. We will gather at the guard shack on the north side and will provide hot dogs, chips and drink free of charge to all who attend. We want to make this our biggest ride ever because the development of the property is to begin very soon. We will provide you with up to date information on the progress of the development and the progress of the Coosa River Valley Recreation Board.

If you are able to come, please email our Vice President, Steve Newton and tell him how many in your party will be able to attend, so we can prepare enough food for everyone. Steve's email address is: SteveNewton at CheahaTrailRiders.com

The directions to the staging area can be found at this link: http://www.cheahatrailriders.com/ctr-new-data/ohv-trails-n/ctr-involvements-n/talladega-n/DirTMARC-GPS-Gate2.pdf

Here's more info. Looks like it used to be some sort of Military ground.

Here's more info how this land came about. Pretty cool that its being used for MC trails! - http://www.cheahatrailriders.com/ctr-new-data/ohv-trails-n/ctr-involvements-n/talladega-n/2-10-10AboutTimeBreconAnnexPlanDecided.pdf

Probably part of the whole Army base there in Anniston. It's where they destroy a lot of chemical weapons, refurbish and store tanks, lots of cool stuff really.

Here's another link on basically the Cheaha Trail Riders updates about this place. I guess they have been working on it awhile trying to get it approved for OHV travel and stuff. - http://www.cheahatrailriders.com/talladaga.html

I'm not expecting a ton of well marked out trails out there yet? Their map in the link does show a GPS track screen with many tracks which what I'm assuming are some form or trails/old roads. I'm guessing its going to be more of a DS type ride vs the type of riding we are used to at HP, but still fun none the less.

wish it was a bit warmer

not me, 50 degrees is perfect on a dirt bike, even at 50 I was sweating last weekend, this weekend should be perfect again
