hell no.... not since the new jerk took over the brazalton store. ask my buddy who got arrested on bogus charges. they told him to bring his race bike in to surrender it. fully preped.
and the only gave him a swhantz school bike. with no platic or race suspension.
MIKE DEBRAVIN (Mike D) added 25 mill fork kit. Ohlins rear shock. big bore and rebuilt motor. painted 3 sets of plastics. rear sets. clip-ons. and much more to get it AMA race ready.
NOW this *ick head at cycle nation who used to be the janitor there. told him to bring it back AS_IS.with all the goodies on it. so MIKE said FU. and gave him it back 3 weeks later with all the race stuff removed. returned like it was giving.
Now they had him ARRESTED for theft by decict.
THATS' THE LAST PLACE I WANT TO GO TO. oh and he's got a good lawyer and about to sue cycle nation for false arrest and false imprisonment.
WAY TO TREAT YOUR BEST RACER THAT YOUR SHOP SUPPORTED FOR 3 YEARS.
found out from the inside. he wanted it to do trackdays instead of using his own bike.
Corporate will have to answer to his actions

I'll stop by on my way home. It'll be close to 9 before I can get there, though.
 at least spell Mikes' last name right, Doug.
Its Mike DeBrabant. And, as much as it sucks for Mike (he's a friend of mine too), it comes down to the fact that if you get THAT kind of sponsorship, GET IT IN WRITING. A damn handshake aint good enuff. A simple piece of paper and none of the shitstorm that transpired would've ever happened.
Hell, ive got a bike out here in the garage that was given to me to ride 3 years ago. Ive got alot of my own money in it. But, if the guy came to my house today and said "i want it back", i'd hand him the key with no regrets, cus there were very simply, no contracts or agreements signed when he handed me the bike.

When it comes right down to it...you're on someone else's bike. I had a good experience with sponsorship though. :)

Hell no! I bought my bike from them and that is all they got and will get from me. The sales manager tried to rip me off. He lied to me about financing. I found out about it when I called the financing company about it. Then when I showed a sales rep the suggested price, he said that's a good price. 3k over what the bike was selling for. I would not touch them with a 10 foot pole, nor buy anything from them again. I wound up getting my own financing and saved the 3k.
I still have sour feelings about them and their business practices.

Sounds like your typical stealership.
I had a very similar experience with Toy o ta near the mall of ga. If someone asked me to go back there my reply would definitely start with a 'Hell no,...'

Like Todd said...not a shop or dealer that hasnt pissed someone off. I have purchased a couple of small things from Cycle Nation in Braselton. they have always been pretty nice to me and helped with anything I needed.

well Mike could have handled it better, but the guy he worked with has recently left. and the new guy simply wanted it all back. ''get that shit in writing.'' if i barrow your bike i should have to replace it %100.if i wrecked it. but if your a racer. and they give you a bike to race. how far is your responsability to replace it if you total the bike out??? i say its to be expected. do you think Vesra ever made Trey Beaty(spelling)? replace a bike..,.Hell no. they just stick him right up on another. so where's the line drawn???
I might show up .... Just look for the red bug...

I havent been to cycle nation in a while but when I did I had no problems with them and was satisfied by them. As far as Buffaloes (oakwood) goes I used to work in the bar there until a couple months ago. So I am biased but I think you guys should go there, eat drink and be merry while helping employ my friends. I am bikeless till sometime next week when I pick my new one up.

Vesrah is professional. I would be willing to be my paycheck, Trey has a contract in writing detailing EXACTLY what is expected of him. Im sorry Doug, and im sorry that it turned out the way it did for Mike, but you said it yourself in your post, and the fact remains, Mike made a VERBAL agreement with the prior owner. When said owner sold the business to the new owner, the new owner now owns the bike, and everything on the bike, and has every right to get the bike back.
Now, with that being said, rather than handing them back basically a "half" bike, he should have stripped off everything HE personally paid for (and if Mike had been smart, he would have reciepts for everything he did), and put the bike back in the exact condition of the way he got it. At that point, he would have fulfilled his obligation.
Sorry man, but handshake sponsorships are dangerous, VERY dangerous. Ive seen MANY friendships/business relationships totally wiped out and ended because of the expectations the OTHER party thought should have been. Again, GET IT IN WRITING. If not, you have NO leg to stand on if the person doing the GIVING wants his shit back.

yea, thats basically semantics and is pretty much irrelevant. Fact of the matter remains, the bike and all that was on it belonged to the shop. The manager runs the shop, and if he wants the bike back, and the owner doesnt step in to stop it, then the owner is by all rights agreeing to take the bike back.
Mike is a hell of a racer, scary as hell to watch sometimes, but he's def. a racer, and i hated to hear about that happening to him.

Yea what's up with that? I have been on this board a wile and hear nothing but complaint's about Motion's when it comes to service so I avoided the service side there. I went to another Honda Stealership and they didn't do a thing on my bike as I later find out .let's just say that dealership (no name) had issues on the service side as sugar coating the repairs and doing a write off on it. Dr Doug fixed the issues but I will No longer use a Stealership again for crappy service tech's. I called the service manager and they didn't seem to care that someone fixed the bike again because they couldn't find a simple leak. I will No longer be purchasing a Honda Product because of this attitude coming from there Dealership's.
