Where can I get some good Handlebar Straps ?

I was told "Canyon Dancer" is very reliable brand but one straps sets me back $26-30 plus s/h.

Is there another alternative that is AS GOOD or maybe even better for a lower price ?

TIA

You can't go el cheap on this item. I have the Canyon Dancer and love mine. Hauled two bikes from Ga to Tx and Not any issues to report.

Buy this item at cycle gear. I purchased mine from the Marietta location for $30 and it's 2 straps Not One.

Walmart has the tie down loops for ~$3 for a 2-pack. I used 6 of them to tie down 3 bikes for my cross country move with no problems and they still look as good as new.

I got some tie down loops from Cycle Gear today instead of buying that Canyon Dancer.
I think $29 is way to much for a handlebar strap.

If you've ever used a canyon dancer, it's worth the $30 initial investment, especially if you frequently move bikes.

$30 isn't expensive for a safe way to transport a bike with no damage. One little slip with something that isn't secure can cost a heck of a lot more than $30.

The new Canyondancers are supposed to be better, but the two that i have (1st gen) always tore up my grips. With loops i can find a good secure place to put them and cinch the bike down. Plus it saved me quite a bit of cash.

Now i have been thinking about dropping some cash on the new protaper tie downs! Those look worthwhile and well thought out.

I have both styles of Canyon Dancers and like them both. I have never had any problems with my grips. On the old style I always twist them around on the grip before I tighten them down, on the new style I put a sock over the grip.

your wrong I have the newer second gen style and it comes with the 2 tie down for right and left bars and it's one peice designed correct but Not one strap like u call it.

$30 is peanuts for all it does conside what the others have stated it's a very good investment.Good luck on finding something close.

Personally not a fan of the dancers, seen too many messed up grips, new or old style. Best tie down method I've found to date is the Pit-Bull Transport Stand. Next best is old school soft ties around the lower triples. CD's will sooner or later tweak the grips and the last thing you want is a stuck throttle somewhere along the line.

I use the cyclecynch instead. Always avoided the old style CD due to the twisting grip issues I heard about.

have to agree with mongo though. The pit bull system is the shit

Maybe the older style CD but never once had this issue on the newer style Cd. I know since I purchased the Helibar's I need to avoid using this system but for right now it serves me just fine intill I buy a covered trailer.
