Ninja 250 question

I have noticed that my 09 250 makes a funny high pitched noise every once in awhile. It sounds almost like a pressure release of some sort, but I am not sure what it is? It also seems to come from the control cluster/stearing column region. It also seems to happen more often when I am getting low on fuel (around 1/4 tank). I have been trying to figure out what it is but I can't. Does anyone have the same problem or maybe some insight as to what I might be able to do?

It's the vent from the gas tank. My wife's "sings" all the damn time.

yup, my 6r does the same thing. very common in a lot of bikes. just venting some air.

Oh ok, good I was thinking maybe something was wrong with it lol. BTW bigb996 how do you like your 6r? I will most likely ride this 250 till the end of the year but around spring I would like to possibly move up to a 6r or possibly an older 7r? Any possible feedback comment or concerns?

Ug. Mine gas tank will "scream" so loud I'm sure neighboring cars wonder whats wrong with my bike... So, don't worry - you aren't the only 250 owner annoyed!

I have heard it in every 250R i had so far. Very common on almost all bikes.
I always tell people there's a mouse inside :)

My 250 sings all the time, even just walking past it makes it purr...

No worries, check the ninja250.org forums, completely normal but annoying.

mine does it too when Im done with my ride and park it in the garage...I open the gas tank for a few mins to stop it

Once you open the gas tank, you've vented the pressure, you can close it right away.

Here ya go ... i completed this mod for a friend of mine and it was still noisy... i plan on redoing it with a 5/32 bit (based on the 12th page of the kari forum post) and that should take care of it =)
