There's Teacher in the back. I remember meeting him my very first trackday (his too). I was on a FZR and he was on a Z1000. I never got to grid up with him, though. I sat out the solo 20 my first race weekend but he was in it. He crashed out of the lead on the final lap and was done for the weekend. I don't think he did anymore races after that.

Walked away? I rolled away...then I tried to crawl away. Eventually I walked to the big flashy box on wheels with the help of two nice ladies that promptly strapped me to a backboard! :crackup: I was lucky though, simply a broken collarbone and one funky looking lower leg (it was bruised for over a month).

Got the picture of the steering stem? I'm kind of baffled by that still...how do you crack a steering stem clean in two! Also, that all of the damage is to the left side of the bike when I went down in a right hander. I dare say that bike got some pretty good air. :D

BTW, I just noticed that the rectifier is still attached to the subframe, but the key, battery and ECU were MIA. :crackup:

Well... all things considered... you crawled and hobbled away. Yes... the key battery and ECU were long gone, dont think they were ever recovered. How do you sling the key out??? I had a group of 5 customers behind me that kept missing the line in Turn 2 at Nashville... I finally got in front of them and pointed it to them on 2 back to back laps... They thanked me and it worked... If it were a race I could see the greif...

That thing just killed brake fluid... and I really cant figure why. It looked like used 0wt oil when it got changed. Fresh fluid, flushed the calipers and m/c, new lines, bled 30 ways to Sunday... and theyd still go off after a few hours.

And the rearset issue, i was m'f'n everytime i'd go into 10 and run off into the gravel because the bike would miss the downshifts. It was funny cus i think i could turn 38's easily or better, except when i would blow 10a due to downshift issues. When i came in from my stint, and checked the linkage, then saw the damn rear set ready to fall off, i was like WTF????????? :lol:

Yeah... the rearset thing kinda bothered me. I had no idea that they had to have those spacers. Well, I did assemble that bike from two and a half bikes and a pile of spares...

Maybe sorted.. but not fixed. :p I still remember the rider change and Todd mentioning the rear set felt loose when he stepped off the bike. Hank was seated ready to go when I saw the entire foot rest dangling by one bolt. Between SteveC jumping in front of the bike and me pole vaulting over the wall with a handful of tools, I have no idea how we kept Hank from leaving that pit.

We wont mention the fact that I left Hank out there an extra 30 mins on his session for that endurance race. We didn't have enough time for 2 pits stops and keep our lead. The gambe paid off... Third place @ the GNF indeed! :D I've got pics of the rider and podiums at home.. so this will have to do.

Yeah there was a pucker factor from me for sure. All I could think about was Bostrom going in the grass the year before in the same spot and the tremendous off he had from it. IIRC this wasn't the first time Cliff tried to win it by going in the grass there. He beat Martin and Paedar there at Cycle Jam one year with the same move he tried to pull on Rod. I guess a 50% success rate with that move isn't bad after 20 miles of racing.

Yep I picked 212 ... and it served me well =) ... the scorpion helmets i have are exo700's... Great helmet for the price =)

I have EXO-400. Its a good helmet but crap keeps getting past the visor. Not sure if its coming up under the helmet or through a crack between visor and helmet.
