i don't need a video to remind me of safe driving. long road trips with the family exposes us to a number of auto fatalities. earlier this year, on our trip to Florida, we saw a car doing somersaults on the highway. of course, traffic stopped and all the guys came running out of their cars and all the women were quick on the cell phones.
not too long ago, a student in my HS daughter's class died in an auto accident (group of teens in the car). her school usually displays a wrecked vehicle at the school grounds as a constant reminder of how dangerous it is.
my daughter will be taking her DL test tomorrow. i don't think she will pass.

coulda at least made em not look like dummies flying in the air!
Jen and I had a car about a hundred yards in front of us go off 575 onto the shoulder on our way back from helen saturday! He came back onto the highway and did a few 360's before coming to a stop in the middle of the highway! How he didn't flip or go into the guard rail was amazing!

This morning I sat second in line at a red light.
As the light turned green the driver in front of me was holding a phone with her left hand and yakking at it and looking at and digging around in something (purse or whatever) in the passenger seat while proceeding to drive forward across South Cobb Drive. She managed to succeed at her multitasking, although there were a couple of abrupt steering corrections as she crossed the intersection. 3 lanes in each direction on our street, 4 lanes in each direction on South Cobb. A driveway within 25' of the intersection on both sides of every direction, all with lots of traffic. It's a scary intersection when you're 100% focused on it.

Too many drivers are just too preoccupied. We have witness too many accidents with drivers texting, yakking on the phone, putting makeup on, and the best one was a woman reading a book, yes a book as she's driving down the interstate. The sad thing is these people are endangering those around them. It's not just the teens that I see doing this it's all ages.

Yup. I actually see more older people, adults, doing this. I just keep far away from them.

Saw this too on my way to work one morning. Dude had laptop, GPS, and talking on a cell phone. I was behind him and noticed he kept going onto the rumble strip. As I rode by I noticed his mobile office.

I feel sorry for all the innocent people that suffer because of these fools. Some in that video such as the (armed robber at 3:23) i do not feel sorry for. I have always driven my car like I am invisible and ride my bike the absolute same way. This guy has his days numbered as well. I wish they would have commercials like that here in the U.S. I am sure it would make a difference in some peoples lives.

I could not even finish watching the video. Once I saw the baby slam into the windshield, I had to stop it. Unfortunately, there's many of these drivers all around these streets. Be careful ridin' as they don't see us either.

Yea I was behind some lady on 140 this morning while I was on the bike. Probably the worst driving I've seen in weeks if not months, and this was stop and go traffic with only one lane! :duh: She was so on/off on the throttle and brakes that it was getting kind of a chore by following her. She almost ran into the back of the car in front of her twice, and crossed the double lane due to inattentiveness a couple times too. Her rearview mirror was pointed at herself too btw.
I still cannot believe they have not passed cell phone laws by now. I hated Cali when I traveled there for work but I will admit that the drivers there seemed much more attentive due to restrictions on cell phones while driving. The guy I worked with says the cops will pull you over in a heartbeat if caught.

This info was on another forum...but again driver lost control and Bill Tomei paid the price...
GAINESVILLE - The state patrol says a 41 year old Flowery Branch man was killed in that truck-motorcycle accident Tuesday afternoon in South Hall.
It happened about 5:00 on Friendship Road in the area of Bogen Road.
The state patrol says the truck was traveling on Friendship Road when the driver lost control and it collided with a motorcycle heading in the opposite direction.
The motorcycle rider was killed in the crash. One other person was injured. The names of those involved in the accident have not been released

As much as I agree with the fact that distracted/preoccupied drivers is a big problem these days.. I have never been a big fan of the whole "Scared Straight" approach that these videos seem to be going. Some of them are just over-the-line stupid fake. It reminds me of the same scare tactic stuff they tried to do with marijuana and stuff where they'd show video of people smoking weed and then 5 minutes later they were all acting homicidal..
Hell, a few of them looked to be police pursuits as well, which really shouldn't be grouped with the rest..
..sorry, not meaning to offend anyone, its just that stuff like this really aggrivates me

Not all of them were fake...
The one where the SUV getting on the interstate flips and ejects the drive who is then run the **** on over happened in Atlanta. The dumbass was running from the cops and it was on live TV.

Me too. Once that part happened i stopped it. Wow... thats all i can say..... WOW..... This should be a mandatory video to watch for all new drivers. Hell, i think if you get a DUI or reckless driving this should be mandatory. Wow......
