I didn't want to clutter up the other thread. But for those of you interested. The box still knows how to turn a wrench. Got the engine out in about 2hrs.

What's the story with the motor? Adding more goodies or fixing an "oopsie"?

When are you deciding on the new engine? That tweaked TDi really would be bad ass.

Camshaft jumped timing (retarded) allowing the pistons to kiss the valves. Well kiss is too nice of a word....


When are you deciding on the new engine? That tweaked TDi really would be bad ass.

Waiting to hear back from a few people. The TDi would be neat. But I'm going to keep it mechanical. Save for the alternator, the sami is EMP proof. And it can run on whatever fuel sources I could find.... (yeah yeah I'm wearing my tinfoil)
