I know there used to be a thread on the best places to get your tires changed. Of course now that I need the info it has been wiped. Any suggestions? I already ordered the tires but I need a place that I can bring my bike to.
Thanks!

I just got my front tire mounted for $43.23 at Moto400. It was the first time someone had ever done anything on my bike and so far I am satisfied. They were done in about 20 minutes or so :). I would recommend.
 for just the front?

for your riding. roadsmart or road 2's. you don't need a high performance tire and either of those 2 will increase your highway miles! Check with Huey or any of the local shop guys here

The Pilot Roads are great tires for a commuter bike and beginner rider. As of today they are still on sale at a great price, dont know how long it will last though.
OTC tire mounting prices are $50 a set , wheels on the bike, when you buy tires from us! $60 a set if you bring your own tires.

I called Kens on Friday to get a price on some tires and M&B. They were expensive on both sides. M&B F&R with the wheels on the bike is like $115. Theres another vendor on here that I got a price for M&B and it was like $50 but they are on the other side of ATL.

We mount and balance a set on the bike for $50 with purchase of a set of tires (GSB PRICE) - $60 if you bring your own tires. And we are on the other side of town from Kennesaw. But if it saves you $60 its probably worth the trip.
Also , for the Ninja 250 the best route to go is the Pirelli Sport Demon. Not many manufacturers make a 130 series rear tire.

The Roadsmart is showing a 150 rear tire as the smallest. That wont mount on a 250R.

I ran the Sport Demons on my old Ninja 500. They worked great tire for commuting. I can't remember the exact mileage that I got out of them but I think it was around 8,000-9,000 on the rear.

Sorry for the late response... yea i rode up there and had them put it on. had I brought just the wheel then I think they only charge $20. But I have never taken it off, nor do I have a front stand, so I decided to just ride it up there and let them do their thing.

The size for 2008+ is

Kens is a rip off. I've ordered from them and they are great people, but they charge waaaay to much. I mount and balance my own tires, but if I didn't I'd use MarMo, or Hyperformance due to their locations.

www.motorcycle-superstore has some of the best prices, and they deliver quickly, usually at no cost for shipping. I have my tires shipped to the shop that is doing the Mount and Balance. Since I am in the Athens area, I usually go to the folks at NPR.

BTW, I'm kind of paranoid about getting new tires on with the break in period and all. I had a partner last year, take a fall in an intersection after getting new tires on the bike. Been riding for about 10-12 years and says he just "forgot." What is the break in mileage and is there anything in particular I should be aware of with new tires? Thanks.

Breaking in new tires just takes some miles. Ride them conservatively to heat them up and scrub the surface. All tires are dangerous to ride on cold especially on cold ground. The handling you get with new tires is night and day difference. Most people get used to riding on their flat tires and forget how nice it really is.

I was thinking more of that compound that they use to release the tires. Also, I already scrub the tires when it is cold by weaving from left to right going relatively 30-40 mph. I have heard different mile distance to scrub the tires in, 50-250 miles. True?

You'll scrub them clean within the first few miles. But as you lean farther over, you'll get over on virgin rubber. Be careful as you lean into it farther over each time. Tire and pavement temps are something to be careful of even on old tires.
