I just found a screw right in the middle of my rear tire & I hate to replace it because it probably has less than 3k miles. Any opinions on plugging a motorcycle tire?

Plug it and go. Worst case scenario: the plug wiggles out, and your tire goes flat again.

I used to ride on multiple plugs. Never had one come out either. Front tire is a little more sketchy than the rear.

I wouldn't just plug a tire for a motorcycle, only for cars. For the bike, I'd recommend doing a plug/patch combo. It's safer.

If it's in the middle and you've got good tread depth at the site of the puncture, hell yes. But a plug/patch is the (more) recommended way. I say this because, for liability reasons, most shops won't do either for you. I got lucky and had a guy at a gas station do it for me for $5, cuz I ironically hadn't packed my recently purchased plug kit. But this is just my opinion, and you'll get widely varying ones. I've had several plugged rears and a plugged front and never had an issue.

Center of tire is no problem but I'd get it patched instead of plugged.

Do you really think thats the worst thing that can happen?

It is the worst thing
Unless you consider the tire blowing out worse
I personally have a hard time trusting a plugged motorcycle tire. The stresses on a bike tire are much greater than a car tire as far as movement and the loads placed on the tire. I know many have been successful but to me the price of a new tire is worth the peace of mind
Its a V-strom. Leave the screw for cool points.
PS- Hooters next Wednesday. 6pm Hope you can come out.

I've got to fly that day but if I'm back in time I'll definately be there.

Ive got no problems riding on a good plug. I only use safety seal brand ones, because of the hundreds of them I've installed Ive never seen one safety seal fail.

Yeah. I know lots of people who've ridden thousands of miles on plugged tires (myself included), and none of them have had anything more catastrophic than a repeat flat.
