Here's a place for folks watching the race to carry on about it. It's a spoiler thread so if you're not watching and don't want to know, don't read any further.

Great ride by Hayden. He has really moved into the top tier.

Front tire. Hmmm. Could bite somebody else before it's over.

Great race.... Nice to see Nicky be consistent... And finish ahead of Stoner...

Wow. Not the free for all that Moto2 is, but super battle on the last two laps and that move by Lorenzo, just wow. Really smart move by Pedrosa not to crash both of them out. He could have tried to block him but Lorenzo had the line and he let him take it. If there hadn't been dust on the track from the Moto2 crash, maybe he would have held it tighter and fought him for the line coming out.

Great last few laps. Lorenzo fought hard! The jump in the lake was the best ending of any race i've ever seen! still laughing my ass off!

Great fun watching Lorenzo stalk pedrobot, nice pass for the win, I can't believe Hayden held off Stoner.

Yeah for a second I thought the lake jump might turn out bad. I don't know if I would try swimming in leathers and boots.

Its all about saving the tires.... Lorenzo was just stalking them until the end...

Lorenzo opened a wide door with his pass when Pedrosa went way outside. If Vale was 3 feet closer, he would have glided right on through too. That would have made for a great battle for second.
Hayden made a great showing. What was that on the final turn when Stoner kicked up a dust cloud before coming to the line right on Hayden's back tire? Did he try a late move?

I saw that too.. I think Stoner tried a Bonehead move....

There were several times during the race when people tried an outside move in the last turn, especially when the target took the tight line to protect the inside. But it seemed like they always ended up being forced to check up when the inside guy used up the track on the exit. Maybe Stoner didn't check up and just ran a bit wide there.
Lorenzo's fastest lap of the race was lap 24 and it was almost .3 slower than Rossi or Pedrosa's fastest laps so I'd say you're right about the tires. Rossi and Pedrosa both had all their fast laps in the first 4 laps.

I didn't see the race yet. How was Spies doing before the mechanical?

He was doing great. 8th on the grid, then 6th, 7th, 9th, 9th, 9th, then he started dropping back and dropped out after 7 laps. Pit reporter said he started having problems after 2 or 3 laps. Last report I heard was a front tire problem but no details.

I guess Rossi's shoulder bothered him more than he let on before the race.

Slept in, but had it on DVR and just finished watching. Great run by Lorenzo...he wasn't taking no for an answer.

Great run by Jorge. Hard to say how much Rossi's shoulder affected him. I just heard about the injury at the start of this race. Was suprised to see Nicky stay up front. I figured he'd last a couple of laps then the pack would bunch up behind him and start picking him off. A great effort.
I can't figure what happened to Ben. If it was a tire, I figured they'd change it and send him back out and use the last 18 laps as a test session, plus he could go out behind whoever and learn their lines. Must have been something they couldn't repair in < 20 minutes (is there anything they can't repair in less than 20 minutes?)
It had to be a great race for the fans though (it almost had that NASCAR thing where the race magically boils down to the two BIGGEST rivals on the last lap of the last race of the season - I have to bash NASCAR, I can't help it :D .) They said 122k fans - I bet that was a Parrrrrtay!

Did you see Qatar?
4th there also. A last corner pass knocked him off the podium. Tied for 4th in points.

It's damn close... double passes for the lead.... backing it into corners.... slides on exit.... both races this years have been fun to watch... almost like the daytona sportbike series.....

Sole American rep Kenny Noyes looked pretty solid most of the race. Hoping he can claim a few wins along the way.

He did till about halfway thru and the he botched a corner and started to fall off the pace. He looked really good while he was up front... not too bad for a 31yr old....
I just want to know how lorenzo had such good corner speed at the end.... his pace was amazing

His corner entry speed was off the chart.... you could just see him run up on everyone at the apex....
