Characterizing them as con artists is unfair and counterproductive. There are many many legitimate scientists all over the world that are finding one bit of evidence after another of climate change. Man made? Doubtful. Imminent catastrophe? Probably not, but that's a little less certain. A total fabrication by anti capitalist conspirators trying to redistribute the world's wealth. Not. Certainly there are people out there trying to find a way to leverage the media attention and public fascination with it to their own advantage and/or profit, but there are also a lot of serious scientists that still believe they are looking at evidence of a warming climate and still think we need to understand what that means to us as a population.
