Hey, I've not been on GSB for a while, but figured this is the right forum for this.

I've been doing track-days for about 2-3 years now but unfortunately most of my riding buddies are "street only" so I normally end up going to the track by myself. Sure you meet and talk to some people but it's just a lot more fun to go with someone or a group for some between-sessions fun and BS.

Anyone in the same situation looking for someone to hang out with at the track, let me know. I normally ride at Barber but have done Road Atlanta and Jennings also. I'm in the Intermediate group (about mid-pack I guess). I'm in the Kennesaw area and have a 2-bike trailer so anyone looking to split the cost of getting there that may be doable also.

So far I have booked June 26-27 and July 24-25 at Barber with STT.

Welcome back...

I usually put out a roll call thread for most of the STT events so pending on my work schedule I dont know if I can do either of the below. However any event I am at your more than welcome to Pit with us and camp at the track.. I am always there for both days at every event I go too. Kennesaw is a little out of my way but I am sure there are others that will take you up on the travel situation.. Its always safe and good to have someone there to ride with to the track...

I usually pit with Marc(TLR67) and his crazy crew, but you're more than welcome to pit and hang out with me as well. I usually leave on Friday for the further away tracks, but the closer ones(RA, Barber, Tally), I may just get up early, early saturday morning and leave it just depends on my work schedule. I run with STT, so if you're doing an event with them there's a pretty good chance I'll be there...just give me a shout. I'm sure someone will take you up on a ride as well, there are always people wanting to go to the track, but don't have a way to transport their bikes. See you soon.

Thanks Marc and Derrick. Marc, you've helped me out before leading/following me on some laps. But you're also a CR and usually pretty busy during the day.
Lazarus - if you sign up for the July "Super Saver" day with STT at Barber let me know (PM me) and we'll work something out. You've never been at the track before? Beware, you may just get hooked and ruin your pocket book in the process ;-) It's fun but it ain't cheap!

Laz will still need a few polls before commiting, what track first, which leathers, what color duct tape, what tires, (nitrogen or air and what pressures) what manufacturer of safety wire and safety wire pliers. what rearsets, what pucks for that first time. What EZ-up. what manufacturer of cooler? Coleman or igloo. What type camp chair. What drinks to bring. What food will be best. What to wear under the leathers. what lotion......... well you get the drift

hey, i usually go to the track with 1 bud of mine, but its always cool to meet new guys and develop friendships. i live in smyrna and would love to split costs sometimes. i usually do sundays, but will do an entire weekend from time to time, so maybe we can coordinate some days this year. i usually ride with STT and ride I group as well, occassionally A.

Sounds great "Muffin Man" (hmm, that sounds a bit weird when written like that). I also normally do just Sundays and from August to October I won't be able to do Saturdays anymore, but I booked full weekends here in June/July to save a bit on the cost of getting there. PM me if you're up for any of the days I posted. I may also be game for one of the early July dates at Road Atlanta.

Yea yea yea. Pardon me if I like to be prepared. Actually I think I want to do Tally first but maybe Barber, just depends on scheduling. I already have leather, tape, tires, pressures, safety wiring, cooler and chair taking care of. Look for threads concerning pucks and lotion though. :D

Dude you should have seen me before I even brought a bike. I think I was on the boards for like 2 years before I even took the class.
