I have had 2 tickets this week alone... havent had a ticket for a traffic violation in over 10 years! The government must be really hurting for money or raising it for something, so drive perfectly out there!

Neither ticket was on my bike!

First one was a speed trap in Duluth last Wed coming around a turn doing 55 and down a hill, watching traffic and there sits a cop right next to the 45mph speed limit sign, and pops me while I am paying attention to traffic...

Then this morning on the way to work i am waiting in a long line of traffic to take a left... About 5 cars behind me hop into the suicide lane to turn, so I let them pass and jump in behind them... Cop pulls me over for improper use of turn lane and gives me a ticket...

I gave the cope an ear full thismorning, and even asked what they are raising all the money for and and he couldnt say... HMMM I am a good driver who always obeys the laws and they start screwing me out of my paycheck... sounds like I am about to leave the lots and make them earn my money! FTP!

actually if you think about it average speed now is like 80+ mph around 285, so it was bound to happen sooner or later.. just slow down or have the money to back your tickets.

Todd

What kind of comparison is that Todd? That is their job to serve and protect. Not to raise money from bs!!no, you can be pissed about getting a ticket (for breaking the law) if you want, but when you come on here and say FTP, you've just insinuated you hate all police an never ever want anything to do with them.

Now, my rub on your original post, you broke the law, ya got busted for it, BFD, if you havent gotten a ticket in 10 years, you mean to tell me you've been Mr. Perfect Driver for the last 10 years?:bsmeter:

Yea, sometimes cops suck, some cops are assholes all the time. Ive gotten what i thought were BS tickets too, but ive NEVER copped the FTP attitude. I'll say it again, you wanna have the FTP attitude, then have at it, but do NOT call them when you need them, dont waste their time. Just one of the many reasons i didnt become a cop was people with attitudes like that. They do something to piss you off, and you cop that kind of 'tude, but yet, when you need them, its a 180 degree turnaround. Sorry, someone comes at me with that attitude, i'd say FU and walk away.

Duluth is the worst they set up radar on all four corners of Pleasant Hill and Peachtree Industial within a mile of the intersection. At my place of work which is the first turn in past River Green there are at minimum 25 cars a day being ticketed. Oddley enough I got my first ticket in over 5 years entering a turn lane too soon yesterday, just happened to be at the tailend of train of 6-7 others doing the same.

Again, I'm still trying to figure out the logic in being pissed at the police for getting ticketed for doing something wrong in both cases. Want to be pissed at someone? I suggest being pissed at yourself. No one made you do that.

And if you don't know the reputation and how strict the Duluth police are, you've been living under a rock for years.

Grow up. You did the crime, do the time, and knock off the immature FTP shit when you did something blatantly wrong.

I understand the laws and am forced to pay the fines for my actions... Just warning everyone else that the cops are out there conjuring up anything and everything they can to generate revenue... Of course I am pissed off because i got 2 tickets in a week, who wouldnt be? There are a lot worse crimes out there that they should be wasting their time on, but they know that traffic generates the $$$ rape, murder, drugs only cost them $$ by having to inprison and supply lawyers... Simple warning to people who get into a turn lane at 310 ft instead of the allowed 300ft... Nuff said... yup, now back to work!

If there's more than the obvious details which clears it up that you weren't breaking the law, then I would suggest showing those. Will prevent a lot of problems. Otherwise, if all additional details STILL verify you were breaking the law, doesn't seem like they need to be posted.

A much more mature approach would have been a simple warning about police activity being higher, not the rant about raising revenue and **** the Police. That in itself loses a lot of credibility.

10ft compared to 100ft, doesn't make a difference if you're in the wrong. Sucks, but that's reality.

As far as rapes, murders, drug trafficking and such, until they get that direct line to Miss Cleo to let them know exactly when, where and how things are going down, please let me know what else they can do about preventing these items. The courts are more to blame for lax and no sentences which do little to deter criminals than the police.

But please, continue the rant.

One can do 5 over the speed limit all day long and nothing will happen, ie the locals and county, the states they can get you if they chose for 5 over. Up to 10 over is usually not a problem, however, in the eyes of the law you can get pulled over. I fail to understand the other ticket for the turn lane. I probably do it all of the time and don't even realize. The fact is the leniency that may have been is no longer and they are tightening up I fathom to say because of the need for revenue.

THE MUFFIN MAN

part of the problem as i see it, and unfairness, is that we all know that if you try and go the speed limit around here, you'll get creamed. EVERYBODY does more than 55 around the perimeter and the connector. for the most part we get away with it, but when they start cracking down, we are all in the habit of going 70+. i have honestly tried to go 65 or so, and all that happens is you end up sandwiched between a sea of big rigs, or have a train of other drivers piling up behind you. now as far as off or residential streets, thats another story.

Yeah, but the part of Duluth that he's talking about, hell, the city of Duluth is known to be fair game if you are any little bit over the speed limit. Agree completely about the Perimeter and the interstates. Go the speed limit on 285 and you're taking your life into your hands.

OK, that makes more sense now. Honestly, I don't have a real complaint about police response times. When we called them for the idiot in my yard, they were here in less than two minutes and were e-mailing us throughout the night, for three hours, actually, sending mugshots and such to identify the guilty party. Come on Todd. Really?yes, Laz, REALLY. FTP. You do know what that means right? Sorry dude, but the way i read that, is no different that saying FTSB (F the sportbikers), in other words, i hate them all. As far as im concerned, anyone that takes that type of attitude, should never bother to waste a cops time. I mean seriously, if you take that attitude with me, im gonna say F you right back and you can kiss my ass if you think you'll ever get any help from me.

Now, with that being said, he could have made the entire post and bitched and ranted about how he THINKS he got screwed cus the cops were out doing their job, and it was only for revenue, and i wouldnt have said a thing. When he added the whole FTP thing, THATS what i took issue with. Sorry, thats just my opinion.

I don't get it. If I get pulled over, it's usually for something I did wrong and if it wasn't "really" wrong, I figure I deserve a ticket for all the "law breaking" I've done since the last time I got pulled over. Can the OP honestly say that he's never gone over the speed limit or done something that breaks the "law" in the 10 years he didn't get a ticket? I know I can't and my last ticket was over 10 years ago. I mean really, we all break the law and sometimes we get caught, it is what it is, pay the fine and don't whine.

i want to see a picture of this "speeding ticket" too

btw....you got the tickets because you broke the law....but thanks for warning the rest of us that if we go out and break the law we could also get a ticket. that is absolutely profound and amazing info. surprised i havent seen it crawling across the bottom of the television on a news channel yet.

Wow this thread got long! haha! I was pissed that day, was a rough week all around for me... work sucked, home sucked, wasnt getting any, and 2 tickets in a week...

After further review I realized that i have actually had a few more tickets than i originally thought... I have gotten 2 tickets in the mail for running stop lights and a wreckless driving in an empty parking lot in which i had permission to practice stunt riding.... The cops have me a ticket because I looped an endo, but when they show up and nothing bad happens they want a show and take several pictures with us riding wheelies around them and their squad cars... Anyways 5 tickets total since I moved here 2 years ago... I fought the wreckless ticket in court and got a very small fine...

thanks for allowing me to vent! There was some hilarious commentary on this thread!

I just watched the youtube videos and its a shame that it happens. We all know stuff like that does happen but honestly what can we do about it until something like that happens to use or we see it happen.

I'm still upset when a woman or man is getting the shit beat out of them by some low life user and no one helps. What the **** is the world coming too? I stepped in front of this fat shit who was holding a gun at a friend of mine and toldem to shoot because I didnt want to get shot in the back. I turn around and my friend took off running... I didn't realize at the time but he did run to get help but I just wonder what would have happened if we both ran. I may not be typing this today. arg, and to the original poster, quit bitching and man up

So in 11 yrs I have received almost the same amount of tickets as you have in 2 yrs? You want to get on here bitching and complaining about cops being mean to you, I'd like to bitch and complain about shitty drivers who run red lights and hit me on my bike because they don't pay attention.

I haven't read the whol thread yet and I KNOW I'm new but did it ever dawn on you that perhaps traffic violations are the easiest to enforce because more people break them? Its a numbers game. How many people are actually out there breaking into homes versus doing 15 mph over the speed limit?
And they implemented speeding laws to protect people right? because excessive speed can be deadly? and most times it takes out innocent bystanders/drives, etc so how is that not serving and protecting?
I'm just curious. Sure you can be frustrated WITH YOURSELF but its not their fault. (see how one guy got us all started on this butt old thread again)

"IT ALL" Operative statement.... Someone who does CAD and GIS drawings for a living should know that there is more than just the obvious details....
