Awesome, a handful of squids doing burnouts and stoppies over and over and taking up 2/3 of the parking spaces... LOL

When I go to a Hooters Bike Night and see the parking lot roped off for stunting, half the time I just turn around and go somewhere else. Not only is the stunting amateur at best, but it is only a matter of time till one of them launches a bike into the crowd of parked bikes, and I am pretty confident that none of them has adequate insurance to cover the damages...

I have to agree with Dave on that one.

I know, LOL.

I just hate how they kinda ruin a perfectly good bike night and like I said, it is only a matter of time till one of them takes out half a dozen bikes and you know that they won't have insurance that would cover that...

I agree but since "our" biker community cant organize nothing of the "Professional" level I think this still is a fun environment for people to practice
their stunts without risking other riders on the road.

1) they really are not much in the way of stunts, less be honest.
2) they do put people at some amount of risk, just in a parking lot.

I know that many peeps like stunting, and I thought it was cool for the first 2 minutes, but it is more of an inconvenience IMHO. When I go to a bike night and can't find parking space because some kids want to do burnouts, then it takes away from the bike night...

Thanks for posting about it. We use ATLFreestyle and Derrick and Chad so some pretty amazing stuff(this coming from someone who isn't a fan of stunting). Chads new Frame looks awesome with what lorne at OTC did to it!

Dave sorry you feel that way but I know many others enjoyed it. You could have helped with giving blood at the blood drive, getting your bike washed, or any of the other activities going on. It isn't like we didn't have enough parking and we keep our bike parking.

I was up in NC most Of the weekend so I missed it. That said, I don't have much issues with it in a large parking lot like that. But it really does suck at bike night because they literally take over 75% of the parking lot, and one mistake on their part can easily take out like 6 bikes, and it isn't like they are gonna pay the damages...

You could always park away from the stunt area.

I still bet you could park away from the stunt area.

Sure, I could go park around the corner and inconvenience myself if I wanted to.

Or, I could just go elsewhere, which is what I do half the time...

Of course a stunt team that isn't insured or has all the correct liability forms isn't going to pay for any damages that happen thats why I use ATL besides the fact we have known them for years. I agree Hooters shouldn't have a stunt show in that parking lot unless it is completedly blocked off. Too small of a lot, to many places something can go really wrong.

Exactly. Law of averages says that sooner or later, one of those rolling burnouts is going to grab traction and launch the bike into a crowd of people and bikes, as they are only 8-10 feet away due to the tiny parking lot. So it is not only an inconvenience, it is also not really that safe, given the really tight space that they have to work with.

I know, I know, they can say that they know what they are doing and have never had a major incident, but one can spent literally days on YouTube watching people who claimed the same thing, right up until the moment that they became a runner up for a Darwin award. LOL

Hell, Ben Spies and Rossi were in complete control of their bikes, right up to the point that they ate pavement on any of a number of races....

If its not your thing no need to reply.. Stunting has its place in public or private areas.. Anywhere is fine IMO as long as the area is safe and its not on 285...

How about a crowded(people and bikes) 1/2 half acre parking lot? LOL

I think CycleGear did a great job securing and closing down the parking lot.
Gave everybody plenty of space to be safe and watch a good show.

Cycle Gear Yes!
Hooters No!

At Hooters last Tuesday night, I parked by bike along the curb between the end of the building and the front door and thought it would be safe there, out of the way of the roped off stunt area, but I was wrong! They were using the front of the parking lot to turn the stunt bikes around and were coming way too close to my bike for comfort. Rather than risk potential damage and a potential lawsuit due to lack of insurance against the Stunt Team, Hooter's and the Landlord, I opted to move my bike up onto the sidewalk.

By the way, what would happen if a clutch cable broke or a hydraulic clutch hose broke? I don't think the yellow banner roping off the area at Hooters would provide much protection to anyone. I agree, the area at Hooters is much too small for a credible stunt show. I did see the stunt show at Cycle Gear and the stunt show area was very large and provided a larger runoff area in case a problem arose.

I typically enjoy the first couple of minutes of a stunt show but after that, it's the same old stuff...just sayin.
