I don't like the stock ones on my 2008 CBR600rr. Options! Take them off? replace them? and with what? ditch the entire assemblies and turn my head? God forbid! What's the advice?

if i remember correctly, a mirror is required. in my youth, i removed the stock mirrors and placed a bicycle mirror to stay legal. i spent more time on the track that when i road on the streets, mirrors would bothered me.

One mirror is required, if I remember correctly. If you're like me, the mirrors are more of a convenience than a necessity, as I ALWAYS perform AT LEAST one head check before changing lanes (I also have pretty good spacial awareness, and keep track of all the vehicles in my vicinity), so you can get away with mirrors that are more aesthetic than functional. What I want for my SV is a set of bar end mirrors, preferably genuine CRG Hindsight LS (For Lane Splitters.. they fold in)... You can get just one on the left side and be legal. I THINK. Someone will know the code for sure.

hit the nail on the head for me.

but not everyone has good spacial awareness, so YMMV.
and yes, only one is required.
I got a set of cheapie bar ends. they work well enough. I use them at red lights and to do a quick check to see if a riding buddy is still behind me. thats about the only times i use them really

No personal experience, but everything I've read has lead me to believe that these are even less useful than bar end mirrors. Just sayin'.

You are probably right. I dont have them, I have stock mirrors which I have no problems with. However if you want to stay legal but add some "flair" these would be good.

Keep it Stock and Simple..... Bar ends are good but not great.. Pig Spotters couldnt Spot the Pink Floyd Stage Pig... They are simply for looks...

Rizoma has a nice assortment of mirrors you can pick from. They are pricey, but it all comes down to how bad you hate the stockers.

I'm specifically wanting these mirrors for my FZ1. Rizoma Prototype Sport, here they are on an R1.

I keep a close watch on what's going on around me in traffic, too. I guess I could do it without good mirrors, buy why? It sure is easy with good mirrors. I don't normally change lanes without a head check but sometimes I do because I can keep really good track of the traffic from about 4 o'clock to 8 o'clock with my mirrors. Of course, they're the stock mirrors, not some squidly things that looks racy but have no function.

He's asking for options, not this crap.

Here is a pic of your bike with Rizoma sport mirrors.
