I have a 09 250r and I just got done riding from ATL to Columbus and then to Birmingham and back to ATL, in that experience the road noise/wind was too much and the ride was slightly uncomfortable. Has anyone had experience with a double bubble windscreen or a touring windscreen to reduce wind noise and or a seat mod to increase ride comfort ability? Also what kind of rides has anyone done on a 250? I would like to do some more rides, but the wind noise I have to decrease and I would really like to increase the ride comfort. I would also be interested in some add-on's to the front so I can stretch my legs a bit. The "sport" ride is a bit taxing on the knees.

Any and all help would be appreciated.

Do you wear earplugs? They're a must for highway miles. Some helmets are noisier than others. In my opinion, you have to attack noise at the helmet/ear level, not with a windscreen. If you block the wind, you will be much less comfortable. The wind on your chest helps hold you up and takes some load off your arms, shoulders and abdomen. And it helps keep you cool, too. I ride an FJR and on hot days it has too much wind protection. I sometimes spread my legs out like a catcher to collect some cool air on my crotch and midsection.

This is not my bike, but I've been on this road in Baja on a sportbike and I will give anyone props for riding it on anything other than a dual sport.

If you search around you should be able to find a few guys doing highway touring on theirs, seems like there is a good cult following for the 250's.

As Wally suggested, ear plugs are a must. People don't realize how much more quickly they feel "fatigued" when the wind noise is beating them down. A double bubble windshield could help or maybe a Laminar Lip to get the air a bit higher. I don't think you have to worry about blocking too much wind on the 250. The windscreens are still small overall.

I've owned both the older & newer 250's. I've toured on the older ones which IMOP were pretty comfy. The new ones are much more sporty and a lot less comfy, but don't let that deter you, you can still do a few things to help out.

Another mod you might enjoy is going 1 tooth larger on the front sprocket. That will calm the rev's down a bit on the highway and make things a bit more less buzzy.
