This is a 2001 Yamaha XT225 with a very simple air cooled 225cc engine mated to one of the best wide ration 6 speed transmissions. It has the grunt pulling 1st & 2nd gear, but a super high 5th & 6th gear for cruising. It can get some very awesome fuel mileage if you aren't wide open on it. We've seen 80+ mpg. With my wife on it, this bike will do 65mph+ all day long and not complain at all.
We purchased this bike for my wife specifically for her to do the TAT on last year. It only had 1300 miles on it along with the stock tires and was like brand new. It now has 4k miles on it and is a bit beat up like dual sports tend to get from running the TAT, but still overall in good condition.
We fitted a set of Kenda 270's right before the TAT and although they have about 2,500 miles on them, they are still in good shape. The front hardly shows any wear, and the rear still has plenty of life left. This bike is really easy on tires. It has a huge custom rear rack on it that worked awesome for carrying a tent and Dry bag on the TAT. My wife was carrying a set of tank panniers and they did a number of grinding the dust into the tank so its not perfect, although its not dented or rusted. The front fender has some scratches and you can see different places where it shows wear and tear, but nothing terrible.
Everything on the bike works and its a fun little bike to ride. I really like how it runs the front amber blinkers to help it be better seen in traffic.

Video walk around. The bike was still cold and I had just taken the choke off, so you here it hiccup a couple times, but once its warmed up, it runs smooth.
