This is a very clean and about as close to perfect 2003 Ninja 250 you can find. It only has a little over 5k miles on it. I like the little 250's and have owned 5-6 of them over the years. For about a year, my wife and I both had a pair of green 250's that we loved going on day trips on. I really like the graphics and paint scheme they used on this year 250.

I used this 250 around town and to commute to work on. The fuel mileage on these bikes are awesome and they are quite comfy even for taller folks. I'm 6'4" and this bike hauls me just fine.

On this bike, you will find a practically brand new set of Pirelli Diablo tires that really transforms the way it handles and rides. I can't stand the stock Bridgestone's that these bikes come with that give no feedback to the rider. Also included is a very nice touring windscreen and bar risers. The bike has the stock center stand. Everything else you will find is stock. (I have another brand new set of Pirelli Diablo tires that I can throw in for an extra $100 that never made it to my wife's bike)

Price: $1900

Man that bike is clean! What kind of mpg you see with that thing? How many miles per tank?

The MPG gets better as the engine breaks in. Believe it or not, this engine is probably still breaking in some at this mileage and I'm sure the mpg will go up. I'm seeing low 60's with me on it on back roads and dropping to 55mpg if I'm running 80+ down the interstate. My wife with her '01 with 18k+ regularly saw 70+ mpg, and even got into the 80's one time when we were really taking it easy. My '98 with 10k+ miles was almost always in the 65mpg+ with me on it.

The Ninja 250's hold 4.8gals so they have quite the range. At 55mpg, it hits reserve right at 200 miles which is the low end of things. If you are getting 65mpg+, you can get upwards of 250+ miles on a tank and ever further if you get it near 70mpg. The little engines can be flogged and still get great mileage or you can just tip toe along on back roads and sip gas like its not even using any.

Man.... thinking about getting one of these for my commute but I dont know, are they safe to drive on 75/285? Sometimes I feel like if I dont do 80-90 I will get killed.

They can handle the interstate just fine and even long distances at those sustained speeds. I have no hesitations of riding a 250 through Atlanta traffic and along 285 etc. Ninja 250's top out around 105mph, but are very comfortable running 80+mph all day long. They are high revving engines which takes a bit to get used to, but it doesn't hurt anything. For commuting purposes, most people go up 1 tooth on the front as it drops the revs down a bit. Obviously as you get closer to the top speed, your acceleration slows down, but they are more then capable to get out of the way. Its actually quite fun riding a small bike and getting every last bit of performance out of it.

I used it for commuting because of the great mileage, but I'm down to 2x a week commuting and I'm missing having a bike like a Vstrom for weekend trips so that's what I'm going back to.
