I would like to do a side exit/cut out on my 1krr. I have seen the taylor made version for th 08+ but I have not been able to find anything for <07.

Is there a company that makes one or am I going to have to get it custom made?

Has anyone done anything like this?

I am a firm believer that when it comes to bikes, louder is better...I have been run off I-85 one too many times and I am ready for my bike to be as loud as possible.

A louder exhaust wont help you..Especially if you are coming up behind people... .It will only hurt the performance of the bike... Just ride like your invisible.. expect the un expected and dont let cagers ruin your day...

^ that.

My shit is loud but if you're behind someone they still can't hear you. I've had bikes riding behind me while I was in my car and thought they we're quiet as shit then they come up beside me and it sounds like I pissed off a massive hornets nest.

If I am cruising next to someone on the highway, I would rather them be annoyed by the loudness of the bike next to them than have them have a nice peaceful drive. I don't expect an loud exhaust to notify every single vehicle on the road that is near me, but if 1 or 2 more cars hear me, that's what I am looking for.

As far a performance goes, I will take less performance and more cager awareness any day of the week.

If I am cruising next to someone on the highway,.

Well thats something you want to avoid right there.... Stay in visible sight in the front or back... Pass fast...Be aggressive.. Never cruise next to someone.. especially in their blind side...

To clarify, I understand what you guys are saying...I don't care NEARLY as much about cars in front of me as a do about cars next to me. If I am behind a car, they have a rear view mirror and that is fine for me, what I have the issue with is the general adjacent/blind spot area of a car...that's where I run into the problems and that's what I want to rectify.

Right, I am well aware of all the ways to ride defensively. You said to ride as if I am invisible...I ride as if everyone on the road is out to hit me and for the most part, I do fine. Sometimes you just can't avoid being next to someone and it is in those situations where I would like my bike to be louder because I know there is a less of a chance that they can see me.

I am not looking for this mod to make me bullet proof, but if there is anything I can do to make my ride safer, I am down with that.

There is always option B, get a Ducati and let the clutch do all the work

Honestly I wouldnt waste your $$ changing anything unless you have a STOCK undertail exhaust now... Go aftermarket there and it will be louder.. Side or Tail the sound will be the same... No cat and straight pipe you might be in store for some valve damage in the future.. Back pressure is a good thing...

I have a Jardine on there now...it's not loud enough.
How can an exhaust system with no muffler not be louder than an exhaust system with one?
In my experience, lack of back pressure is a myth...

You have some valid points, sir, but my mind is about made up. I am just here looking for options as far as a side exit/cut out goes.

To answer your question there are no side exit exhaust options for your bike so you'll have to get it custom made.

If you don't want to do that, you can contact Jardine and get the race baffle for your exhaust.

If you don't want to do that, you can take a dremmel to it. Remove the rivets from the end cap and remove all the packing.

Well then I'm not exactly sure what you're looking for. You say you want a side exit exhaust but you don't want a muffler?? In that case, just remove your Jardine and be done with it.

Your options are pretty much wide open. You could do like the one that was posted, or put the can completely under the bike with a small pipe coming out, or just gut the pipe you have on there now, or run an open exhaust and have it tuned accordingly.
