I have a CD here at work i need to make an exact clone of for back up purposes....What is the best "hopefully free" program I can use to do this?

I'm assuming you mean legally free and not just free. Anyway, go to http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cd_dvd/

They also have guides at the site. I believe CloneCD and ImgBurn will do the job.

Hmmm....Yeah this is not a movie or anything, just a simple data disc while has repair information we use here at work to fix larger trucks. The disc is getting pretty scratched up here in the shop and I am trying to be proactive since it's use is vital to our day to day business. It's not a DVD, just a CD-R.

If it's not a program disc then you should just be able to drag the files off the disc onto the the desktop. Put in a new/blank CD-R and drag the files back to the new CD-R.

Now, if there's a program that actually runs on the disc, then you can use a free program like CloneCD.

Whichever method you choose, make several copies and please be sure to try them out to make sure they contain everything.

larger trucks? if its a detroit diesel the software should all be online other than a install disk to get it on the computer... also goes for MBE
