I know you could spend a lifetime reading all the ride reports on ADV and this one isn't ours, but I think it stands out and is worth sharing - http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=584006
His name is MetalJockey and I've read some of his other ones, but this one is just amazing. He's got plenty more in his sig too.
Basically his buddy and him decide to ride some very remote areas of Zambia, Africa on a BMW F800GS and BMW G650 X-Challenge right at the end of the rainy season (April). The roads hadn't been rebuilt yet as they get destroyed every year and basically every bridge was gone. Their struggles and stories are pretty amazing.
The first post definitely grabs your attention.
We wanted a trip with a bit of a challenge, something to get our teeth into.

Day one

Day two

Day three

And every day thereafter we were challenged and rewarded.
If you want riding bliss, Zambia is it.
