I need some help from some one that knows something about AC units.. yesterday i had it on working and all was well.. i then turned it off .. after about 8 hours or so i turned it back on and the unit out side is on but there is no air flow coming through the vents.. i made sure the fan on the thermostat said was on and the cool is on but nothing coming out the vents.. i turned it back off thinking it might be froze over if it was low on freon or something and waited about an hour then turned the unit back on and same thing.. outside is running and everything but no air coming through the vents.. anyone have any idea what might be the problem?
Thanks Jaco

Bad fan motor. Blown fuse. Bad relay (the thermostat actually energizes a relay, and the relay energizes the fan). Bad thermostat (might not be energizing the relay, even though it says the fan is on.) With a multimeter, you can pinpoint it.

does the blower unit inside the house come on? If so and you still done have any air out of the vents then the coil has froze up.

You could just have a bad run capacitor on your indoor fan.

they dont make them like they used to. my x's a/c went out in just under 6 mts time. it was the outside unit's fan cap... fan spun maybe 10-15 rpm
