Sarah and I ended out up there Sunday. It was a hot day, but we had fun.
You also could just show up at HP. There's usually plenty of people to find to ride with out there also.

Funny, when I finished the 50 mile 2.5hr race I was puking in the bushes. I told my buddy I needed to sell all this crap and buy a boat, that I would much rather be on the lake right then drinking a cold one.

your in better shape because your racing though, I rode all day yesterday at durhamtown and it beat my body so bad I had to stop a couple times on the atv trails to avoid passing out, I drank a couple gaitoraids and about a gallon of water/ice on the trail, and I still started getting tunnel vision and loosing the ability to focus my eye's ! damned dehydration gets me when it's hot like this, no matter how much I drink, got a couple blisters on my hands this time, I guess I was more agressive on the track than usual
this next weekend at highland park looks fun, see this thread

Yeah I feel like a champ today but damn it kicked my ass yesterday. I couldn't have been more hydrated though, all I drink is water. Saturday I had over 200oz of water. Some more Sunday morning and a 100oz Camelpak on and sucked it dry during the race.
The heat is just a killer in a race like that. But I can ride for hours on end at a normal pace. Amazing stamina from racing.
