Is there anyone local that you guys/ladies know of that can do starter rebuilds? My 300 Arctic Cat 4X4 starter crapped out. I think. All I'm getting is a clicking sound and I can feel the relay tripping. About to start pulling airbox so I can check for juice going into starter. Battery is at full charge and even tried jumping it just to make sure to no avail. At least it didn't happen in the middle of the season.

I use to use this guy to rebuild alternators and starters in my Good Year days and he did a good job.

Thanks James. I'm going to try yanking it out and fiind out whether the drive gear is engaging, jammed, or toast. I appreciate the
help. A new one is $450 bucks. Damn.

I may be able to get you an aftermarket starter for a fraction of the price of a new one from the dealer.

Outstanding. I'm going to try and pull the starter this weekend and hit it with a 12 volt source to determine whether it's that or the relay. I need to figure out which could be causing the problem. Not much room to try and jump the relay. Think I ought to just replace both to prevent future problems? Going to need a boot kit too for the outer CV boot. Tore it this weekend plowing through high brush scouting.
