With all the cold temps down here this year it only seems fitting we do something and take advantage of them. Who is up for starting a Polar Bear club? Let's say to get in you have to do a 100 mile ride in temps below 32 degrees?

That reminds me of the first GSB ride I went on...Hoov, TLR67, Digger...maybe another couple of folks...anyway, it was snowing on top of the mountains and I learned that perf'ed leathers suck in the cold!

Been there, done that, won't do a repeat performance. Dec of 07, rode the dragon and the cherohala in freezing temps. Thought I dressed for it, I hadn't. didn't feel my hands or feet for 2 days. I did however manage to keep the nether region at comfortable temps.

Yeah - I remember that. It was sad being passed by snow plows.

they were wicked in the corners!
 i remember the weekends of me, highside, hoove, Rocky, McCarley, Grant, MrClean and others meeting at Toosey's, temps right at freezing, shivering in the cold unloading the bikes, and wondering to myself "WTF kinda dumbass are you, Todd?????" But, by the end of the day, it was well worth it. Made friendships for life.
That being said....... no effin' way i'd even CONSIDER it now. You fockers aint worth my boys shriveling up for, AGAIN! :nono:

ahhh man i would have had that so easily!!!! I had to ride to high school for the past 2 years during winter....some mornings it would get to 15 degrees!!!!!!!! Layer up! haha though there are those few days that the wind will just cut through whatever you have on....but now that i have a car (and did have a bike) but in the market now....i would choose the car on those cold mornings hahaha

I had a meeting last year in Cartersville that I had to attend. I was living in Peachtree City at the time and had my old 74 CB360T cafe bike. It was 25 out when I left. 140 miles round trip. I thought i gave myself hypothermia once I got to Cartersville, it took over 2 hours before I could take my jacket off.
50 miles into the trip up to Cartersville my legs were shaking so bad I could hardly keep the bike straight! I have learned a lot since then, mainly to wear more clothes.

That was the Popsicle run, still have some pics of that day. wish I knew about heated gear back then. We went on lots of cold rides. Kept grabbing the heads on the FZ1 to keep my hands warm, was really glad to have a nekid bike.
