Sounds pretty cool. Look forward to checking it out this fall once it cools off.

god I wish someplace like this would open south of atlanta, everything is on the north side

You could go to rockycreekatv:up:

that place sucks, unless your on a quad

high point perry is really fun, but it's only open once a year for trail rides

KTM Rider

yeah i dont know. i have ridden there plenty of times on my bike and thought it was fun. its a faster paced ride but i dont like single track that much anyway.

rocky creek the trails are flat and if it's wet it's slippery as hell, there's no dirt bike ruts to rail, the quads keep the trails too smooth

it's fun once and a while

KTM Rider

flat is most of the south side

soil composition on the south side lends itself to slippery when wet similar to DP. HP is much better.

weight the outside peg and you can rail flat ground with good tires

yes i agree just like any place would get old if ridden every time

over in jackson there's hills and perfect logging land for trails, I dualsport & jeep over there, and perry has hills too, I LOVE perry

rocky creek is just washed out slick flat turns

KTM Rider

jackson may be slightly more hilly than rocky creek but for someone used to real hills, neither is hilly. croom isnt hilly either but its a blast.

I hope this new place puts in some single track, or bike only trails, personally my favorite is good flowing atv width single track, so you can get some speed, I get tired of the bar banging stuff that's too hot to ride this time of year

KTM Rider

yes i hate single track myself all year long:lol:

i hope to have the owner's ear soon as one of my friends knows him. my suggestions at a min are some bike only trails and one way trails all over. i dont ride ORV areas because of the 2 way trails.

MrBlah

if it's 2 way, I wont go there, the only ORV areas I ride is one way, town creek & kentuck

I love some single track, not the tight stuff. I don't care for tracks or big jumps.

Considering how ATV-centric this place sounds so far (not even a mention of dirt bikes) , two way trails would totally be a deal breaker. Plus, the dust clouds those ATV trains kick up...ugh.

I'm for some single track but something I don't need 10" bars for and gimmie some smaller jumps on the trails.

Come to think of it, I live in Jasper. Now all I need is a dirt bike or ATV. I may have to un-retire, especially if I buy those C6 Z06 brakes..

I like my atv when I want to get out and see nature, it's a utility, or I just gotta ride and it's raining or snowing, going slow and enjoying nature

I like my dirtbikes when I need the adrenalin fix, the quad gets rode twice a year

I've had sports quads, used to race MX on them back in the 80's/90's if we were not moving in the next year I think I would try a sorcs with you

Friend and I went 2 weeks ago on a week day, If you search this place in google it shows it as ATV park.
Anyway, when I called them I was told they have 4 MX tracks divided by age.
To me it looks like ATV wide Highland park like trails, of course it is nothing like Highland Park at all.
So, no MX tracks and no jumps either, for now it is not for MXers or single trail guys.

Here's a link to few pictures I took of the main so called MX track "A"

Hopefully it becomes something better than it is because its close proximity makes it appealing to me. Keeping my fingers crossed. Do you know if anyone has spoken to the owners about ideas for single track and actual MX tracks? They could have a gold mine if it is developed correctly. I cant be the only one wanting something closer to the north side of ATL.

that is the most promising review of the place yet:up:

I rode there yesterday. The "tracks" are a joke:up: They remind me of narrower versions of HP's loop road.

The two trails they have were marked D & E yesterday. Both were fun but definitely not for inexperienced riders. There were some pretty steep hills with some tight switchbacks. After Sat night's rain, the soil was about perfect but I have been told that when it dries out, the top 4 inches of soil becomes pretty loose and people have referred to it as silt or sand but like I said after a rain, it was nice. Once it cools off some I will be back for the trails:up:

Oh and btw...some of the employees said they are cutting in single track right now so it should only get better.

Sounds kind of promising.

I race Rockcrusher yesterday with SORCS. Nice place, wouldn't mind a *cough* cabin trip back... *cough*

Moto Mountain has potential. E was fun, but I definitely wouldn't want to try it when it's muddy!

Its biggest problem right now is the lack of facilities. It'll be much nicer if they add bathrooms and shady picnic tables like HP. Then wives and girlfriends can come along and just hang out. Right now it's just has a couple of big gravel lots and some porta potties.

Trail maps would be nice too. I was beginning to think I'd never find my way out of E. :)

Not sure when you were there last but they had a half dozen ez ups with picnic tables under them in the parking area and if you went out the back side of the parking lot where D trail and E trail were located there is a decent sized hill with a riding path up to it that offers a great ~270 degree view with many picnic tables although they were not covered. At 11am on Sunday with a breeze it was very pleasant.

As for riding there in the mud, I agree those hills in mud slop would be no fun but it sounds like when they are dry it is also no fun because of the silty conditions. Apparently I timed it well by going on Sunday morning. It was the perfect mix between silt and mud. I will go back solely for the trails (and not take any kids with me this time:lol:) and try to ride some of the "Hill Climbs" that we skipped last time due to varying skill levels.

Yo Frank,

I have a GNCC up in TN this weekend but I'm pretty open after that. Lets try and get up to Moto Mtn soon! Skip a day of work maybe and drag G up there?

KTM Rider

G no longer has a bike. My "other bike" is currently in surgery:lol:

I am down for riding one day during the week but I must both wait for it to cool off a bit and see how the whole job thing pans out. The new owners took over last week and things are still "shaking out". If I dont get shaken out myself then I would be in. If I do, while I will obviously have the time, I will need to save my $!

Good luck in your race:up:

Thanks, the National is going to be insane!

I'm sure we can find something for G to ride. I have the TTR50?

I hope everything pans out at work. If not I have some stuff for you to do, lol.

I thought your work was slow right now?

Slow in the sense that I can't keep 15 guys busy like I could 3 years ago. I stay busy plus I could always use some sales/marketing help. Maybe if things pick up I can get a plane, then I would need a pilot!

I am glad to hear you're doing better then. I thought from talking to you and G that it was pretty bad for you. I hope things will work out on my end but 2 things.....1)thank you so much for offer to help and 2)even if things do work out for me do please be in touch if you end up thinking about expanding or if you actually do pursue anything aviation related. I would be happy to work with/for you.
