In the past we have been able to ask to have LEPR hidden. Will that be an option in the new version? Please :)

Why?

Why?

Because some people don't want to see all the LEPR political stuff when they hit "new posts". Afterall, this is a bike forum and some people just aren't into politics.

On slow days, the LEPR forum can be a very high percentage of the posts that appear on this forum.

I would almost think it would be cool to have the default setup of not being part of LEPR and having to "opt in" if you wanted it to appear in your new posts. Obviously everyone can always goto that forum and read the posts if they want.

I'm not sure what software it was based off of, but I remember being on a forum where you actually had the option to select what topics/main forums appeared in your search when you hit "new posts".

Yes - we can do that now. What Dan said is not possible, though. If you opt out, you can't go in and check ad-hoc. That particular forum just won't exist for you at all. PM me if you want out of LEPR (or any other forum for that matter)

You mean if they opt out, they can't even go and check it out? So I guess you would just be hiding that forum from them all together? Wouldn't it easier just to set up that group that when they hit new posts, it will come up that it will exclude XXX forum? ...getnew&exclude="xx"

Dan - AFAIK, you can't just restrict it to hiding in new posts and not on the main forum page. I'm sure there's a hack for that but we want to minimize hacks if at all possible.

Gotcha. I understand about hacks. They usually lead to issues.

there is nothing to fear but feat itself (and liberalism).

Yeah - been there and done that (heavily-hacked board.) Best to keep hacks to a bare minimum.
