we are renting a trailer to haul a couple bikes down to daytona...... does anyone know if you can fit 2 bikes into a 5x8 trailer, i thinking that we will have to load them up facing opposite directions if it were possible.

Open trailer or enclosed? Open trailer, it will be a breeze. Enclosed might be a tad tighter, but still very doable. One might have to be backwards or they'll need to be staggered so the bars don't hit.

I can fit 2 bikes on my 4.5' x 8' trailer. It's tight, but not hard at all. Some people even get 2 bikes on the little Harbor Freight 4x8 trailers. Heck, we had 3 bikes on one of those one time!

BTW, moving to the correct forum.

I had trailer pics of 2 bikes on my trailer, but can't find them at the moment.

I would rent a trailer from home depo, it's a lot cheaper than Uhaul and they are very nice.

yea they just started last year or there abouts. most location may only have 1 but all where brand new, had full ramp, like 15 tie downs, side access door and where lit. Only thing is you can't reserve them. They either have them or they don't. Price is on the trailer in the pics I posted. You can get a motorcycle trailer from u-hual for $11 a day, but they are hard to find locally and I prefer the enclosed.

Thats pretty cool. Yea I was looking at the interior pic and I thought to myself that thing looks mint. Only downside is not being able to reserve it. Sucks if you are thinking about renting it for a TD.

Does anyone have experience between the ever-popular Harbor Freight 4x8 Folding trailer vs. the 4x8 folding trailer from Red Trailers? The Harbor Freight one is about $420 when you factor in shipping. The Red Trailer is more like $600 when you factor in shipping. Red Trailers claim to be a higher quality. Anyone know if it's worth it going for the Red Trailer brand?

Do you know if they stock them assembeld at their store? It would be nice to avoid shipping.

They have them at the store but not assembled that I know of. But the boxes they come in are easy to get home.

I ended up going to Trailers For Less (http://www.trailersforless.com) in Fayetteville. I bought a leftover 5x8 trailer with a mesh floor for $500. I was in and out with the trailer in under 30 minutes.

What about the Kendon 2-bike trailer? Is it worth the extra cheese?

13" wheels, diamond plate decking, wheel chocks, ramp, bling.

Just a FYI for those needing a trailer, Lowe's has a 5x8 mesh trailer with ramp gate right now for $488.
