I'm tired of polluting alone: is there anyone else in the metro area into two strokes? I'd love to find a couple of people to meet on a semi regular basis to ride a bit and shoot the shit. I'm on the west side of town. Shoot me an email if you think valves are evil.

Cool bike. Predecessor to the Yamaha RD's I guess. I rode an RD250 for a while in the early 80's. It had 'features' (more motor than brakes, fouled plugs easily, no suspension, etc) but was fun.

Very nice indeed. Is it original or restored? Do you know of other two stroke owners in the area that would like to get together?

Yeah -- it is a year before the RD.
Think the RD was bad? Try drum brakes. Only other real difference is 5-speed transmission, and no reed-valves.

Matter of fact, if I find the time I have a RD350 bottom end sitting in the garage. The plan is to swap it in there so I can have a 6-speed.

It is pretty much original appearance wise. Only non-stock is the handlebars.
As for the motor it was all original when I got it -- three rides into it the motor seized and I broke a crank and shattered a piston. So I had to replace all that good stuff -- but for being almost 40 years old, it was well overdue for only the first oversize!

Ian,
I'm right next door to you in Austell, and am also a smoke lover.
I have an 85' RZ 350 and a 85 RZ500, both of which are currently sidelined.
Wouldn't take much to put either of them back into action though.
We'll have to hook up for a ride some Sunday.
Mabey a short 1/2 day ride down 70 to Newnan and back.

Really sweet lookin RGV ya got there !!!!!

Haha, my name is Ian also, and I love two strokes. Don't have any right now though. I had a '95 RS125 a few years ago, It was the coolest thing i've ever owned. The first thing I buy when I get out of school will probably be an RS250.

Huskyduck, it's time to get them running! I appreciate the nice comment on the bike. It's been a project for a long time. Is anyone game for getting together to get the ball rolling? Doesn't matter to me if you have a stroker or not I'd just like to hang with some people of like minds. I'm free tonight (thurs), Fri evening and Saturday.

Shoot me an email and lets see if we can put somethig together.

Ian,
I work 6 days a week (60-70 hrs), so my riding time is very limited.
Therefore, I try to have things planned out a week ahead of time.
So if ya wanna plan a short ride, I can do next Sat evening with a 5pm meet up.
For an all day ride, next Sunday could work for me.

Looking forward to meeting you, and can't wait to see and hear that RGV !!!

Oh my, they keep you busy. With the way things work around my house I can't plan for next Sat yet. You and i close enough we should be able to work something out. I could just buzz over your way if nothing else.
