It's the video of the UFO over China on July 9. I've Googled to see if anyone ever found out what this was but I can't find any confirmation anywhere.

I've got nothing... but that's very interesting. It doesn't look to be moving too fast but that could be an optical trick of perspective.
Scramjet maybe? Project Aurora?

At about the :30 sec. mark it looks like a multi stage rocket dropping a section. They actually grounded all the flights at the airport until the thing was well clear. Weird, that's for sure.
Edit: Notice the "shock wave" at the :30 sec. mark. Could that be it going supersonic?

Have you seen some of the other pics? Definitely looks like some weird stuff going on there.

The weird thing is that they said that they had it on radar. If it was on the edge of the atmosphere I don't see how radar would pick it up.

so, i am a big believe in future type stuff. what if UFo's are really us going back into time to resaerch the past. UFO's have been in painting for thousands of yrs... think about it

If anything, if it is a future us, they are coming back to film our dumb asses for the Past's Dumbest Home Videos. :D

If that's the case, they should have been hovering over Atlanta not China..

If they hovered over Atlanta, they'd have footage for a couple centuries.

No kiddin'. That's exactly what I've always hypothesized. Instead of aliens, it's future humans. Sounds crazy I know but how can it be aliens? Isn't the next closest galaxy like thousands of light years away?

Believe so. I don't doubt other life exists, but why would they want to come visit the trailer park of the universe? ROFL

Maybe to scare their kids into saying in school?

I do believe there's other life out there. But that just looks like a jet, or something, at very high altitude breaking the sound barrier. The light could just be the effect of sunlight hitting it from behind. You can see that the sun is either rising or setting when the video was shot so it would still be shining brightly on something that high.

There's billions of stars in the Milky Way, why look as far as another galaxy to have intelligent life? Barring any science breakthrough shortcut, time travel has a much higher chance of being impractical or flat out impossible than getting to another star.

I guess I meant solar system instead of galaxy. Even so, the closest solar system in our own galaxy is still thousands of light years away. That means that if something is travelling at the speed of light it would still take thousands of years to get here. Besides, how would anything find us? Earth is merely a microscopic speck among trillions of other microscopic specks floating around. I agree with you about time travel being impossible but it's just something that made me think "what if".

Unfortunately the data that we have on UFOs is, at best, pretty useless for figuring out their origins. I can't call time travel impossible, just not nearly as likely as visiting stellar neighbors.
The 10 closest stars to us are all within 12 light years. The closest, Alpha Centauri, is less than 5 and may have planets. While that's a butt-ton of distance to us, it may not be to a more advanced race. And finding intelligent races isn't as hard as having to go to every planet. We've been pumping decently powerful radio transmissions into space for about 70 years. This means we have a 'bubble' of radar 140 light years across that has a good chance of being heard by another intelligent species that lives or travels through that area.
Mind you, this doesn't mean that UFOs are decidedly produced by little gray aliens instead of natural phenomena, government experiments, or other more plausible possibilities. Until one of these things decides to greenman-up and land in Fenway park, we're just going to keep scratching our heads.

And keep one thing in mind regarding the issue of traveling at the speed of light. If I remember correctly, several scientists theorized if you ever were to pass the speed of light, the issue of traveling backwards in time would become a factor. Can't remember the exact details, but overall, once you went past the speed of light, you would shift to time in reverse. I'll have to find that again.

In quantum phyics, it all becomes much more complicated. The way we think of space, time and distance in our three dimensionally ingrained minds no longer applies. It's not really possible to grasp quantum stuff unless you are a serious mathematician (I'm not), but for those that think and work in it, the idea of being light years away from where you are, in the next instant or even right now, is not just possible but almost a given.
