OK. Race result in next post so stop here if you don't want to know.

ROSSI!! Wow. Almost on the podium in his first race back. What can you say?

DePuniet broke both bones in his left (I think) leg, maybe from getting run over after a crash.

Great race to watch. Lots of battles going on.

Oh, that was Stoner that Rossi eventually lost out to. Brilliant move by Stoner to take the podium away from Rossi. If it was anybody but Rossi you could put it off to "well, he beat a cripple." But Rossi is not your everyday cripple.

:handclap:

Great ride by el Midgeto. Pedrosa and the Honda's are making a battle out of it, stopping the Yahama charge to the championship. There's a lot of races to go. It may not be over.

RDP didn't get run over but may have had a bike land on him after the other riders hit his bike. Rossi was looking great. Curious what was up with Ben, finally got down to some decent times in the last half of the restart but nothing in the first part.

Love Honda but hate pulling for the midget.
Amazing that a injured Rossi is still that much better than 3/4 of the field.
My boy Hayden needs to pick it up...

During the coverage, there was only a momentary glimpse of Stoner passing Rossi in the final turn. Looked like they traded paint and Rossi got pushed wide. Hard to tell if it was clean or not, but the bump was against Rossi's injured leg I'm pretty sure.

What can you say about Rossi?? Hobbling on crutches onto his bike to then compete for a podium spot.. WOW

They kept talking about updates to the Yamaha Tech 3 bikes, like Edwards and Spies were at a disadvantage or something... or like the factory bikes had something they did not. Anything to that?

Great racing action between Pedrosa and Lorenzo.. Good to see that Lorenzo will not walk away with the championship, and Rossi will be a force to be reckoned with. The team competition between Honda and Yamaha will be interesting and entertaining as well.

Great MotoGP season !!!!

There's a quick view of it on the highlight video. There was a little bump but Stoner had the inside. It was agressive but I'd call it clean aggressive racing, champ against champ. The injured leg probably prevented Rossi from just leaning in on him. Rossi knows he's out of the championship battle and would probably rather run every race than re-injure the leg in a big last turn battle for third place. It was a great pass. Rossi blocked him in the corners leading to the last turn but Stoner saw that coming and used Rossi's move to make his opening. It was brilliant.

Nevertheless, I don't think he would fancy crashing on either side and tumbling around with it. On the other hand, he's a god of some kind on the saddle of a motorcycle and maybe it doesn't enter his mind. He could have fought Stoner for the line and maybe crashed them both but he stood it up and let him through. Maybe discretion. Maybe just reaction.

Couldn't been any worse than what Rossi did to Stoner last year at Laguna...

Assuming the one quote was correct you have Rossi making fun of Stoner :)

It's funny that Stoner actually stayed up on his bike this time, now that he's going back to Honda....usually he would do this under pressure http://ts3.mm.bing.net/images/thumbnail.aspx?q=159833722298&id=16d5712614ce8ae83b9b012246f2c2fe&url=http%3a%2f%2fwww.bikeland.org%2fmisc%2fnews%2f stonercrash.jpg

I would have loved to see a man on crutches on the podium.

The BBC announcers were cracking me up. "That's no way to treat a handicapped person."

Biggest story of the weekend - Lorenzo's engine letting go.

I've read mixed reports, but he is either on his 3rd or 4th engine out of six in his allotment and we are only at round 8 of 16. Nicky has had a couple of his engines let go as well.
Reportedly, Pedrosa is still on his 1st or 2nd engine.

The second part of the season should be interesting.

Saw a picture on MotoGPod's Facebook page that showed Kallio about to run over Randy's leg. I assume he did...

At least before Sachsenring both HRC riders were still using their first two engines (each).

Yeah, I went off of what they showed on TV and where the other two involved landed etc... The picture obviously shows Kallio did run him over.

Speaking of Kallio, where will he end up next year ? Moto2, WSBK ? Don't see him being in MotoGP next year at his current pace. Been hearing that Capirex is probably headed to Pramac for 2011.

Yeah, you have to assume that Yammie will have to detune that thing a little. maybe they already did and that's why Lorenzo wasn't able to just ride away this week.
