I know we had a thread before about this. Hows everyones progress so far? i know a few guys had just started it. I started doing it last week and ive been hurting after every workout. I need to go buy a few more things to complete some of the exercises though like larger dumb bells. Have any of your guys noticed yourself toning out? how long did it take for you to see results?

What equipment have you bought? I'm picking up everything I need to start working out again this weekend, and I'm thinking I'll just get it all at once. Still have to borrow my buddy's copy and make him a backup. :)

I weighed in two weeks ago for my 12 week competition. I'm at 14.8% body fat. My goal is 12.5% and I'll be doing a mid-point weigh-in next month to see how I'm progressing. I've had a rough few weeks nutrition-wise with lots of wine and desserts but I'm back on the wagon this week. (Though I did treat myself to a Sam Adams Noble Pils tonight with melt-your-face-off delicious low-fat black bean soup!)
Nick, if you don't want to buy anything, try the Crazy 8s workout. It'll absolutely slaughter you. I can barely make it through one rep, much less the three that they say you should aim for.

Wow! 14.8% is pretty low for a woman. I got down to ~8.5% last summer but have edged back up to ~11.5-12% (damned holidays!) I've done the p90x ab workout and its a freakin' killer!

Same here..... then I sold it.
I have been hitting the gym about 5 times a week though. Hardest part is getting my diet under control. Slowly but surely. BTW - N.O. Extreme kicks ass. Increases blood flow, muscle pump and energy.

Well, as my hydrostatic technician so bluntly put it after knowing me all of the time it took to disrobe and dunk me, "if I had a bigger chest I'd have a higher body fat percentage."

Its an exercise program on DVD (http://p90x.com). I'd rather go to the gym and lift but I do like their ab workout.

I am on week 3 of P90X. I have lost around 8 lbs so far.
Not a bad work out though I enjoy the gym much more. I was a regular at the gym about 3 times a week before P90X. And I will be going back after I finish it.. My neighbor went on P90X and challenged me so I decided to try it. The only video I hate is the Yoga X. I moved Kenpo X to that day and I do cardio on the Kenpo day. I hate Yoga.
As for the diet I eat pretty well as it is. I try not to stray too far from my normal diet. I'm a firm believer if you do that you will shed the pounds quick but most of it will come back once you back off the diet and start eating normal. This way when the weight comes off it usually stays off because your body doesn't go into shock once you introduce normal foods. I mean really, who wants to eat crap everyday? Just eat smart and your body will work just fine.
Good thread, I will keep updating my progress.

It was a GUY! That was the most awkward part. I mean, I usually roll with uncomfortable comments, but that one gobsmacked me. I just kinda stuttered "ok" or something, took my print-out and skedaddled.

i bought a pull up bar that was worthless, its the kind that goes in the door jamb. Its supposed to fit all normal door opening however ive tried it almost every house/business ive been in with it fitting between none. I have 12lb dumb bells and 30lb dumb bells, but i need 15, 20, 25lbers. I also need a band.

thanks for the info man, i havnt really done the kenpo, or yoga yet. I do the ab ripper every other day and have just been kinda doing my own
video schedule. Do you have a copy of the schedule or can you pm me what they want you to do? i have a bootleg copy so i dont really know how im supposed to do it.
The reason im doing these workouts is because i dont really have the cash to spend on a gym membership and im the kinda person that needs instruction to do this kinda stuff instead of going to the gym and really not knowing where to start or what to do.
Im doing a workout to get filled in more than anything. Im like a twig and want to gain some muscle/weight so im trying to get my self into something that works.

You know, I started assuming it was a dude, cuz that sounds like something a stupid dude would say. Then I thought it was probably a woman, to make you more comfortable with the whole thing. Guess I shouldn't second guess myself haha. What a tard.

I was looking at those, good to know hahaha. As for the dumbbells, there's a set at Target for like $30 or $40 that are adjustable weight, just like the nice bowflex ones (much less pretty, of course), that go up to 25 or 30lbs (I don't remember), I was thinking those might be perfect.

We have the pull up bar from Beachbody.com (P90 folks) It works just fine in our door. We have bands from them also and they work great and can be had pretty cheap.

I really wish I could have been motivated to do the P90x. I just cant do it at home. To many distractions. I have better success going to the gym and working out.

Me too. I prefer the gym by a long shot. I was working out tonight thinking of all the things I needed to do in my garage. Tough having the bikes in the room next door to the gym. lol
