Battery Tenders are very useful tools for the overall health of your battery. Keep in mind that battery tenders are low amperage chargers designed to sustain battery voltage at 12v while the battery is not in use.

Battery Chargers are higher amperage chargers that are meant to CHARGE the battery and bring it back up to 12v.

A battery tender will not charge a dead battery back to life.

Depends how big a hurry you're in.

A battery tender will most likely not charge your battery to full potential from dead. The amperage rating is just not sufficient for doing so. Most tenders are .5 or .75 amps.

The Optimates I use will bring a batter to a full 12v no problem. They also work for bringing back really dead batt's.

Perhaps you should ride those things and the dead batts wont be an issue. :p

I'm not too far away, so if you need a hand keeping the hyper and the buell in good shape just let me know.

I'm not home enough to ride everything, the quads are the worst for going totally dead. I need to buy a couple more Optimates too...

The Optimate is a charger and tender in one essentially. Fully automated battery chargers are very useful. It has the ability to charge a battery with up to a 7A cycle and trickle charge with as low as .6A and will do it automatically.
