Wanted to get some opinions...

Looking at either getting a white set of limited edition fairings for the busa
or painting them the same color scheme.

What are some sites I can check out to compare pricing on fairings?...if I were to
just buy a set?

Recommendations... get fairings or paint the ones I have?

Cost will be around the same except for the tank. I can paint them the same color scheme. Odds are you will find a fairing set without tank.

Give me a call and we can work out some ideas on what kind of color scheme you are wanting to do. 770 616 9895. See website link in sig.

I love this color scheme, but I also like the original pearl white limited edition

Please pm me what cost of labor/paint would be. Hubby's got a connection with PPG paint...not sure what that'll cost but I'm meeting with someone this weekend to give me a quote on the labor. My busa is two-toned blue & silver so it'll need to be sanded, decals removed, etc. Tank will need to be painted as well. Please let me know the time frame too (to get it painted). Thanx man!

So buying a set of fairings will cost me about the same as getting them all painted? In addition, I'd have to get the tank painted, right?....so it'd probably be cheaper to just paint it all in the end?

If you go with an aftermarket set that has that paint scheme on it then yes, it will be around the same money + painting the tank to match.

The biggest labor headache on the Busa is the decals on stock paint. They have to be completely removed and sanded down past the line they leave or they will ghost back in with new paint.

Figure a kit around $1000 + a solid $200 to strip and paint the tank + labor for install.

IF it were my bike I would do a slight spinoff of the factory scheme being that your bike is not actually the limited edition bike. Keep it clean but just add a little flare to set if apart from another LE bike.

Thanx for the info & tips, fellas! I'm making a list of pros/cons and quotes. I originally wanted an airbrushed design - totally off the wall... something Indian related... as in Cherokee. I'd have to pay someone to do the design/artwork though plus the paint/labor, so I've FINALLY decided to go with a more subtle/easier look. Ever since Mike774u (what happened to him btw?) let me take his white one for a spin, I fell in love with the white.

I say do it all pearl white, we can flatten out the pearl coat a little bit to get the pearl stand up. It would look sick!

Is paint included in the price you quoted me?

And while we're at it... what would yall recommend for HID headlight for my bike? I've had complaints that mine's too dim.
My birthday's comin' up so I'm putting some things on my wish list...lol

just got off the phone with them...
they do make it for the busa but its a low beam hid kit which will be the same PRICE as the 600/750/1000 single beam kit.

BusaGirl

is that just for that particular company (only makes low beam) or is there such a thing as a high-beam HID kit for a busa?

And by the way, we can paint it any color you like. If you are wanting to have it be more than one color I need to tape it up with the bike still together so everything flows between the panels. Just let me know what you want and we can hook it up.

just a lil update on the fairings.... looking at a set this week that are off a limited edition '06 model. I'm assuming they'll fit my '04 just fine?
I can possibly get them cheaper than painting the whole thing. Will still need to paint the hump to match but the set comes with a tank too.
Hoping it's in good shape. The set also has the front headlight so I'll see how bright it lights up.

Thanks for the info on the HIDs, flatblackrr. I'll check into that next as well.

Typical Busa owner.

uh, not really... the HIDs would light it up way better than the stock light I've got. It's VERY dim. Probably still has the original light (since 2004 when the bike was made).
