Hot qualifying session this afternoon at Laguna Seca. The Americans all did well. Spies 5th, Hayden (N), and Edwards 7th and 8th. Another pole for Lorenzo. Stoner almost snatched it but Lorenzo always seems able to shave another 10th off. The only rider in the 1:20s.
Roger Hayden qualified last and really seemed to struggle. Although he got plenty of laps at Laguna Seca, a MotoGP bike is, according to the best riders, a totally different animal from any other bike out there. The brakes, especially, are way better than any other class and the electronics can be. But it takes experience to get them set up to suit you so that makes it tough for a wildcard rider. But he's in the show.
The race is a t 5 PM tomorrow on SPEED.
