does anyone local sell airoh helmets? Only way I have found to get them is to order, which means I cant try one on

If I order, does anyone know if there's another ebay besides the UK that will save money on currency exchange?

Ebay UK has the stelt for 220 pounds, todays rate 330 $ shipped, the helmets are italian

they are very very nice, super light, carbon fiber blend helmets, all the European racers use them

here's one off ebay I'm looking at

Had an Airoh. The street version using that same design. I really liked it but once I sold the Tiger, I sold the helmet. The lightness is IMPRESSIVE but it's not at all as plush as my Arai or Shoei. I looked and looked for something local but had to get it shipped from the UK.

I have one and I like it for the price only. But I had problems with like the inside trim falling about, the padding was cheap and didn't fit like I thought it would.I will not buy again, but that is me everyone else is different though.

Ebay and i don't know my wife bought it, When I started to have problems I contacted them and they said they will not warranty that at all...So I called them back hope to get another CSR that might do something else.Nope they said the same thing. So I got pissed and gave it to my buddy.

ahh, I cant find them on ebay in the US, only overseas, and 350 $ is not what I would call a cheap helmet for it to break like yours did

US helmets are mostly the snell standard, and I dont want those, too much research is showing the internal foam is too stiff

So get a helmet that is ECE or BSI....

All the research about Snell being too stiff is an article by a guy who has hated Snell forever, not exactly a good source of objective info.

Yea but mongo you know this is like beating a dead horse and talking to a wall.

So get a helmet that is ECE or BSI....

That's why I'm buying a airoh helmet, it's also almost half the weight of the snell/dot helmets, and a carbon kevlar blend

I'd bet both

maybe, I dunno, I guess he has an opinion on one or both that he does not want to share

This is the article that made me decide to try a airoh helmet

MrBlah

I've read the article - repeatedly. And the experts in it all have their own axes to grind, it's a definite slam on Snell and what they feel is acceptable limits. There is no way to prove what is too much, human bodies are too variable. One person can take a lot more g's than another. What's funny is I've seen helmets that will pass the different specs that I'd never wear or let a loved one wear. I still wear Arai's and can't see any reason to change that. They work. They work well.

to be honest I dont really care either way what spec helmet I have, the weight savings with the airoh is whatw I want to try

Mega, Have you looked at the Fly Carbon F2's? I tried one on and really liked it, as a matter of fact I noticed quite a few of the privateers wearing them last weekend. :)

Haven't been to any crashes involving one yet so no idea how they'll fare.

MrBlah

anyone know what the fly f2 carbon weighs?

The aria/shoei are both 3 pounds, and the airoh run 2, I think that's why all the pros and riders in europe are loving them

Ohh and I found out, the snell 2010 ratings are almost the same as the european ratings now, they made the dirt bike helmet test work better for our type of crashing, softer foam inside, and they dont do the double metal bar impact from what I have read

so 2010 snell is almost equal to ece

Mega, I tried to find it online and the only thing I found was a person that called Fly and was told just over 3lbs.

Wonder where the 1lb difference is coming from....

Wow, this helmet is everything people said they were and then some, perfect fit, it must be some other brand that's round shaped, because this one is not

pretty crazy how light it is
