So I am about to order a lot of stuff for my DRZ (if I can keep away from Eddie's WR450). I cant decide on either the Pro Taper EVO or the Easton EXP bars. Anyone have either of these? What are your thoughts?

Easton is who makes the bars for Answer. Answer designed the Pro-Taper bars back in about 1993 and they've been one of the best bars out there since. Either one is worth installing, it boils down to where you get the best value. You'll need either a new top triple clamp or a set of universal adapters to install them with a one piece top triple clamp. I'd be more concerned with what bend you get. Some bends can make your wrists hurt.

I searched and both have universal mounts so that you dont have to change the top triple. I have read that the Easton mount is a bit trickier though. I am going to go with the CR HI bend. That seams to get the best reviews. The stock DRZ bars are just to low. i can get the Pro tapers about 10 bucks cheaper through Thumpertalk.com but really not worried about saving 10 bucks aslong as I am happy with what I buy.

I keep a couple different sets in stock, along with the adapters. The universal adapters will raise the bars another 3/4". I'd go with a YZ bend. Nice and neutral without too much pullback. I even have the bar pads with them.

Well, i guess I will come see you then instead of ordering them from TT. You wouldnt happen to have FCR 39mm MC carbs would you? I am also ordering an IMS 4.0 tank and a MRD/SSW exhaust in the next week or so.

I dan't have any new FCR's in stock but I definitely have the hook up with those. They can get *very* pricey. I can also order th eother stuff and should be able to save you money as long as it isn't closeout stuff you're ordering.

Let me see your DRZ

its just a plain ole drz400. Pretty much bone stock besided the edge tail ight. Its an 07 with only 2300 miles on it. I am really looking forward to gettng some more oomph out of it.

Here it is dirty...I dont seam to have a picture of it clean...

If I trade the DRZ then what are you gonna borrow?

Hopefully I can move the R weezee by then and have a new ride.

My suggestion is MAGURA bars. They don't offer as many styles or bends as other companies, but they are nearly indestructible. Ive been racing harescrambles for over 3 years now. Ive bent MANY bar mounts, but have NEVER bent a set of stock KTM Magura bars:up:

the Tag 1-1/8 bars with cross bar are probably some of the strongest bars i've seen--putting a set on the new 650R supermoto i'm building
