I am trying to help a friend with some feedback.

He would like to know what type of concessions would you like to see at Road Atlanta and other sporting events. Things other then Hamburgers and Hot dogs. Also what would you be willing to pay for a decent quick meal.

Your help is greatly appreciated

interesting question, but i guess i wont be much help, cus when i go to an event like this, im not there for the food. Kinda hard to screw up hot dogs and hamburgers. Theyre already usually overpriced at these type events because they have to pay a vendor fee to the place just to be there. If i get hungry, a hamburger/hotdog will usually suffice until the event is over with, and then i'll go out and get some real food if im hungry.

Go to Turner Field sometime, every kind of food you can think of is available there, but you better have a pocket full of cash if you want to eat any of it.

And you have to keep in mind Todd is rather cheap :D

For events that could draw enough people - pretty much any of the concession trailers you see at fairs would work. Italian Sausage, BBQ, and so on. Maybe not the fair food stuff like cotton candy and elephant ears but the food ones. The current concessions are really just not that good and overpriced (I understand the price, limited days to earn money and the overhead of paying for a monopoly at the track).

Racers in general are going to bring their food but fans will buy if it's decent and not horribly overpriced.

:yeathat:

The last event I had there, two years ago, the food service was terrible and I let the track know about it.

What the hell ever happened to a good old sandwich? Seriously? I don't need all this fru fru BS. A sandwich, Wrap and some fruit or chips would be great. Just because I'm at the track sweating my tail off in the pits or stands doesn't mean I want to eat a hot meal. Something cool, refreshing and easily portable would be great.

PS: Sandwich profit margins are great vs. burgers because they can be pre-made and require no additional attention.

burgers, chicken sandwich, fries, etc. Just the basic stuff fits the bill for me. I just want something quick and easy while I'm at the track. I'll have a proper meal later.

We've got a few airstreams floating around the country that are set up for events. Full kitchens and what not. I'll see if I can steal ya one.

for the question - burgers, dogs and fries if i don't get anything - i ain't there for the food - hell most of the time the bag of chips i bought at the gas stations before i get there is enough for the day.

The basics for me as well.

Nacho's, Burgers, fries, hot dogs, chips...I guess the norm.

I love concession food to be honest. It isn't the healthiest or best tasting food, but it's just something about it that I'm always lured to.

Every time I have ever been to Road A I have brought my own Subway or we cook. Guess I'm no help.

Every race track and promoter should go to Indy and see how it's done right when you have the track/promoter/city/sanctioning body all working together to make an event. Absolutely amazing. Granted it does help having the track essentially in a major city but still.

Yeah I second that man, Everything seemed to go smoothly and the programming was awesome.
I would love to go there for an indy race as Im sure they are much more prepared for those events. You could tell
that being new to the modern day motorcycle world they were running on the trial and error basis but all and all nice place.
