Good race. Seemed more normal (in a good way) than last years fiasco. SBK & SSP races were apparently great as well (will watch tonite). Looking forward to attending the Road Atlanta round next month...
ps: congrats to Geoff May on a solid run on his own GMR bike !!

Well, I guess it says alot that the only thread about the Daytona 200 (not including the Viewing Party thread) has 4 posts, and two of those are about the TV coverage... I can't say much for the pre-race promotion. I didn't even know it was on! I should be smack in the middle of their target demographic. Luckily, I saw the thread here and recorded it on the trusty DVR.
I'd like to have seen that front group stay together longer, but the disparity in pit stop efficiency ruined that. (Props to M4 and the other big teams for working hard on their stops.) I wonder if DMG, with all their tinkering, would consider a minimum pit stop length for Daytona? I've seen Vesrah change both tires and fuel the bike in :26. Maybe take the average of the 10 fastest (1 tire+fuel) times and use that for the minimum time for 1 tire stops, and do the same for 2 tire stops. Or something like that. I dunno. Not everyone can afford to pay a crew to practice stops, and not every crew can practice for free...
That said, I enjoyed the race. The laps before the first pit stop were riveting. Five-wide, are you fuggin kidding me. It was great! Felt bad for Tommy, but hey, that's endurance racing. That whole front group put on a great show. Valentino Joshie was aaaaawesome, and did Dublin Georgia proud. Congrats to Geoff (Cumming, GA) as well.
From my couch, it looks like DMG still needs work but, things looked a heck of a lot better than last year. Hope things continue to improve.
