It's a set top box that allows you to use the netflix streaming service (or amazon's, or pandora, etc), for people who don't have an xbox360 or PS3 or wii, or a compatible bluray player. That being said.. Why waste $70 on a stand alone box when a good, name brand blu ray player can be had for $120-$140? Just my personal opinion.

It won't do streaming from a computer through it to the tv either from what I can see, just doesn't seem to do much of anything really.

You can get your mp3s off your harddrive, IIRC.. but that's about it.

cause i dont have a flat screen and have no desire for a br player

yes it will. you simply have to build your own channel. you can stream all content from any pc as well as itunes

Loaded XBMC onto a small form PC.
It's incredibly powerful and beautiful.

well if i can ever buy my lcd then all this will be built in, but thats gonna be a while still
