Can someone please explain the advantages of a 320gb system over say a 250gb or 120gb? I am assuming more storage, but is there anything else like faster game play? Just trying to figure out if the 320gb system is worth the extra cash or if I would be fine with the 120gb or 250gb. I am not a hard core gamer or anything. It would maybe be used 4-6hrs a week for gaming and also for watching movies. Sorry if this is a stupid question and thank you for any help provided.

Not worth the extra coin, there is no differences what soever minus the storage space. A 120 is fine and that's all you'll need.

Start ripping blue ray discs and you might want the extra space.

I don't really care about backwards compatable. I sold my ps2 and games a year ago.

Not sure what you're asking then.

Will it play regular DVD's (Backwards Compatible)? Yes
Will it play Blu-Ray? Yes

It's cool

For what it's worth, I bought my PS3 strictly for a couple of games but mainly because of the blu-ray. It's the best out on the market. You won't be disappointed and I'd recommend the smaller one. Just my .02

Yup, it's still by far the best Blue Ray player on the market. Great upscalling DVD player as well. It's actually BR-3D compliant as well (one of the only on the market so far.)

As far as hard drive size, hell, mine is only a 40GB unit and it's fine... granted I ONLY have games and save game data on it... No music or movies (I stream those off my file server when I want to watch them through the PS3.)

Save some cash and replace the hard drive with a larger one yourself

Can you attach an external hard drive to the PS3 like you can on a Wii?

I think he's asking if on a regular DVD it will upsample to 1080p. I can't say for sure, but I can't think of a blu-ray player on the market that doesn't up convert.

edit: whoops, didn't make it to the second page before I responded
