So I know there used to be a few discussions on this, but I am looking to put insurance back on the bike. What are some personal preferences on insurance companies. I am curently with Allstate but i would like to check around. I know there was a smaller company (can't remember the name) that alot of ya'll went through, I got a quote from them awhile back, but can not find their info to save my life. So any help would be appreciated.

I love State Farm, had them ever since I started driving. They go off the CC of the bike, not the type.

You can call my agent, James Beavers at 770-992-4124 and tell him I sent you.

Kirk & Kim are awesome! I switched to ACE years ago and haven't looked back since: http://www.acecycleins.com/

FWIW: full cov'g is ~$300/yr on my bike (30s, married, clean record)

I have Starm Farm as well and currently pay $58 on my policy a Mo. I could pay $35 but I went for some added coverages.
Starm Farm had the best rates everybody else was out of there mind.

I got state farm with mine.. like they said up top they go by cc and not the bike and bc i am under 25 made me really happy.. considering the fact that with all our other vehicals on the plan and all i only pay 23 bucks a month for full coverage.. and on top of that when it comes down to it they pay out good..

Good luck

ACE is the one I was thinking of. But I will check out state farm also. I know with Allstate (I have everything through them) and it was high, around $100+ for full coverage each month. I have a clean record married and will be 25 this year. Thanks for all the info people.

I have cotton states. Give them a call.

The rating system is different for everyone. A girl that works in my cotton states officers is cheaper for her to go somewhere else but I can remember where, but its cheaper for me to be at cotton states. Put your other vehicles and everything else with the same company so that you can get multi policy discounts and what not. That is what I have.

I had State Farm. They were great on the motorcycle policy but were ripping us a new one on home and auto coverage. They wouldn't let me keep just a motorcycle policy with them because of an auto accident 2 1/2 years ago.

Check out Liberty Mutual. They just redid their motorcycle policies. I got full coverage on the VFR for <$50 a month with low deductibles.

If your aging up you might be put in a new price range. Usually for under 25 you pay a whole lot more on your rates. I'm going to be rate shopping on this next week since it appear's State farm raised my rates by $50.00 for a clean record.

I've been with State Farm for years. I did a quote with Markel American Insurance Company, literally 20 minutes ago, and they are about 250 a year lower than State Farm. I may be making a switch.

BTW, I'm 40, single, and clean record.

I checked them out on a rate quotes and for what i'm paying now with State Farm it's not even close. This is what I was quoted just now. I'll stick with State farm I've gotten some crazy rates lately for a perfect driving record and Perfect credit.
I noticed on the quote they lower there coverages too so make sure it's close to what you have now on features and rates. Even still it didn't measure up just right in my case and thats with a Perfect record .

its completly retarded for anyone to post their prices they pay. I always thought that was really dumb, because no 2 people are going to get the same quote. Insurance is a giant scam imo, its like what the gas companies do. They can charge as much as they want, but in the end we will have to pay it regardless.

i had state farm when i was 19 with no issues, i tried to get it last year and got a letter from underwriting stating i was uninsurable for a ticket for 17 over in my pickup truck i used to own that was almost 3 years expired. When they said that i said F state farm.

yea it's all based on Location age and history. No two people should have the same rates however they should be within a similar pricing figure. Your right Insurance is a Scam there all trying to save there ass and like you stated that ticket is hold against you for a period of 5 year's. They usually go back 3 but they can review a record for 5 year's too.
