PS3 vs Xbox 360

So after owning Playstations 1, 2 & 3 and currently having 2 PS3s in the house my boy is wanting an Xbox 360. So I guess I just really want opinions on the 360 and what set up is the best to get. I see them for sale for $199 but that only gets you a 4GB HD vs the $299 with a 250GB HD. Thoughts...paging JSkeezy the Xbox whore!

Personally I love the PS3 but I guess if the kid wants it I will try it out. :Poke:

Todd get yourself and X and play some SBK X with us. It's hella fun. We basically talk shit and laugh at each other the whole time.

BTW, Chris, I have been a die hard PS guy. I was going to buy a PS3 but my neighbor said if I didnt like the X he would buy it. I bought it and never looked back. I know several folks with both and most of the time they play on the X. Especially when playing online.

I dont see all the hype around the blue ray player in the ps3 versus other sony players. I have a sony wifi blue ray player at the house that works great and completely upgradeable and 3D ready, I think it was around $150

i had a PS3 and gave it to my brother.. didnt like it.. im xbox all the way kind of guy.. only thing that sucks is the internet fees but once u got it u will be more than happy with it.. i just look at the ps3 as a nice blue ray player.. but everyone has there own thoughts on them.. but my vote is for 360

This. That was my mistake. You can use a 16 gig drive to add space though. Im sure Msoft will bring a bigger drive pretty soon.

online play you cant beat XBL.

as a entertainment box, the PS3 wins, but the 360 does a nice job of it too.

I agree with everyone above. Between me and all my military buddies XBox live is the superior online gaming. If it tells you anything out of about 200 or so guys that live in my dorm here in korea all but about 5 or 6 prefer xbox live. The blue ray player is a mute point for me as i download all of my movies.....even the blue ray movies so i never needed the player. Im mostly a FPS gamer and driving/cycle games. The few people i know that prefer the PS3 over xbox say its simply due to the sports games.....but thats all they use it for. And definitely get the 250GB HD. Just from game updates you'll burn through 4GB in no time at all.

oh ya.. get the 250GB.. if u run out of room then A) get a job or B) shoot yourself.. bc u do way to much gaming.. unless u lose it by just dowloading all ur games on to your console so u dont have to carry them with u when u go places.. then its understandable..

I went with the PS3 for the blu-ray player. That and the fact they don't nickel and dime you for things that should be built in, like a wifi adapter. Little Big Planet is pretty fun too.

well I was going to simply buy a samsung with all the bells and whistles. I can get one from work for less than $75! I don't care about the games and will never play any! I was simply going with the ps3 because I know sony will keep updating it so it will support all the new br features if there are any. I can't think of any stand alone player that doesn't get left behind when something new is out

I love my 360 and had it since it came out. one overheated and MS replaced it under warranty. I personally love the 360 gaming and the controller feel but wouldn't mind a PS3 if I had the time to play games.
I just watch DVDs from Redbox on my 360 lately.
