"MYFOXNY.COM - Some New York City chefs and restaurant owners are taking aim at a bill introduced in the New York Legislature that, if passed, would ban the use of salt in restaurant cooking.
"No owner or operator of a restaurant in this state shall use salt in any form in the preparation of any food for consumption by customers of such restaurant, including food prepared to be consumed on the premises of such restaurant or off of such premises," the bill, A. 10129 , states in part.
The legislation, which Assemblyman Felix Ortiz , D-Brooklyn, introduced on March 5, would fine restaurants $1,000 for each violation."

Don't these people realize that iodized salt is where most people get their iodine from? Kind of critical for thyroid and metabolism function. And I doubt this is a clever ploy by a supplement manufacturer, it sounds like pure ignorance right there.

Of course, between this and sending undercover officers to gun shops in VA, I'm surprised they found the time to cure all of the city's ills.

This is the way things are going, and it won't be limited to NYC. Fat content, salt, at some point sugar and caloric limits. This is how our government is going. Every facet of our lives, has some sort of law or restriction attached to it. What we can eat, what we can listen to, you name it, if there is not already a law restricting it, one is pending.
What I find amazing is that Constitutionally, the government doesn't even have the authority to pass probably 70% of the laws that they do.
