Do you have room for another bike in your trailer? Where are you going to be staying? I've never done a track day before but I'm very interested.

PM sent to you. Just let me know.
The day I did my first track day was at Barber and I had 5 people ask me if I needed a place to bunk.
I just sold the trailer so I'll be driving my truck down - two can fit on the back. It's a Quad Cab so room for us isn't a problem. If we get more peeps I can take my 16' trailer but two bikes aren't a problem at all.
Barber is like riding in the mountains on a one-way 45-foot wide road that grips like all get out, no on coming traffic, no pets, no slow moving traffic, no cops, etc. You will LOVE it!!!!!!!!
I ride my stock Bandit 1250 with Road-2's and I found a track day takes off about 500 miles of commuter miles off of them; more on the sides of course :)

Thanks for the info guys! And thanks for the PM bandit. I'll give you a shout back. My biggest concern was transportation of my bike but it looks like you can hook me up with a ride.
I'm such a noob though... have no idea on all of the bike prep stuff that is probably required. I guess I'm just going to stick my neck out and pay the money and hope everything works out. :)

I have one confirmed riding with me in a Quad cab and 2 maybes for bike towing. If you need transportation give me a shout out. It will barely affect my MRG - gotta love diesels.
I've had a couple of peeps ask about towing their bikes - I said I can pull a trailer if I they can borrow one or pay for renting one (under my name so full coverage would be no issue). I'm too lazy to unload and reload my work trailer by myself - heck, I don't know where half the keys are and there's about 20 locks on that sucka.
The more the merrier. I'm leaving Friday and coming back Sunday.

maybe if theres more than peeps can pitch in on renting the trailer..whats that run anyone know? and how is this track for a first time newbie on a track ? I mentioned doing my first track day here yesterday and someone told me that might not wanna be the first place I do a track day..something about a bad spot and a tower?? figure Id post this up so I can here input from you all on this..

I;m guessing that it'd be about $25 if there are 4 peeps for the trailer - I dunno, I'll call and ask on Monday.
Barber will spoil you. It's like riding in the mountains but the road is 45' wide, does not have LEOs, no gravel or sand, one way traffic, no double yellow to worry about, etc. I had a blast last year with NESBA. I anticipate an even better time this year.
Don't worry about the tower, at our pace it doesn't matter.
Just be sure to have good tires. The 2 sessions I did last year took about 500 miles off of mine so I'm estimating that a whole day will take off about 1200-2000 commuting miles - Road 2s grip well and last long. Attached is a picture of my tire after the first session. My bike weighs weighs more than you and your bike let alone adding my weight to it :)

X-ACT Motorsports, Inc Rules & Guidelines
Alcohol and other intoxicants are forbidden during on-track hours in any X-ACT Motorsport, Inc.’s event.
Any rider found in possession of such substances at a X-ACT Motorsport, Inc.’s event, will be immediately ejected, forfeit monies paid for track days and be barred from further attendance only after a full review will any considerations be made to allow rider to attend any future events. If the substance is an illegal and/or controlled substance, the rider will be banned for life from any future events.
Any rider that disrupts and/or interferes to the point that it affects the regular operation of an event will be subject to ejection from the particular event and a full review of the situation will determine whether the rider will be allowed to future events.
X-ACT Motorsport, Inc. reserves the right to refuse admission to any individual/rider. Any individual/rider denied admission, will receive a refund unless they are in violation for one of the reasons listed in X-ACT Motorsports, Inc. Rules & Guidelines.
Any riders dismissed/ejected from any X-ACT Motorsport, Inc.’s event, forfeit any and all monies paid to X-ACT Motorsport, Inc. and/or any of it’s affiliates.
Release and Waiver of Responsibility
All riders/event participants will be required to sign a Release and Waiver of Responsibility. X-ACT Motorsports Inc. and it’s affiliates will not be held responsible and/or liable for the risks involved with, and associated with this sport.
In the event of a Crash.
In the event of a crash, rider and bike must both be evaluated and the bike itself must be re-tech inspected. X-ACT Motorsports, Inc. reserves the right to refuse a crashed rider back on track if paramedic and or any medical staff determines the crashed rider is not physically cleared to ride. Again, rider, gear and bike must be evaluated before a crashed rider may return to the track. Each crash is taken on a case by case basis and will be evaluated as such. Crashing unfortunately goes with the territory and no refunds will be given due to crashes.
SKILL LEVELS:
Note: Except for beginners/first time track day riders, all riders are subject to evaluation by X-ACT Motorsports staff. Riders may be moved between groups up or down based on evaluation. This is for both the particular rider and the other riders safety in any given group.
Novice Group: Those who have never ridden a motorcycle on a race track before are required to start in the novice group. Full class room instruction will be provided to those that are first timers to the track. All novice riders are required to attend the first classroom session so that there is a clear understanding of how the novice group will be run and that safety comes first! All basic track rules and guidelines will be reviewed along with flags and proper pitting in and off the track. Back protectors are encouraged but not required.
Intermediate Group: Those who have a good basic understanding of track days and a few track days under their belt fall into this category. This group is required to wear back protectors. There will be control riders monitoring this group in all track sessions. This group has the widest range of skill levels amongst the riders. Many have just graduated from novice where others are on the border line of moving up to advanced. Riders will be allowed to pass in turns with clean safe passing allowing generous space for each rider while passing (4-6’) Please refer to the note listed above. Back protectors are required in this group.
Advanced Group: This group is for the accomplished track day rider and/or club racer. Back protectors must be worn by all riders in the advanced group. All riders will be expected to respect each others space in this group and pass safely. Stuffing will not be tolerated (passing closely on the inside of another rider entering a turn), especially if it creates a safety hazard to other riders! Please refer to the note listed above.
At some events that X-ACT Motorsports Inc. puts on at smaller venues, we may opt to run our two group/max track time arrangement which puts novices/intermediates together with the understanding that there are no first time track day riders in this group. Instructors and control riders will be available for all riders as in our standard format, but this format will only be run with smaller groups, max 25-30 riders per group with novice/intermediate “not so fast riders” grouped together and advanced riders in the “fast” group. Again all the above rules/policies apply to this format.
X-ACT Motorsports trusts that riders will sign up in the proper group. All basic group rules/guidelines will be reviewed at the mandatory riders meeting at the start of each event day. All riders will be expected to abide by the basic rules laid out in the riders meeting. Failure to follow the rules could and may lead to ejection from the event with no refund.
Tech policies for bikes
All bikes MUST be tech inspected and pass prior to admittance to the track.
Tires should be in good to new condition, brakes must be fully functional and in good condition. Tires in poor condition, excessive “bluing” or excessive tread wear will not be accepted and the bike will fail inspection.
All lights, turn signals and any other plastic lenses need to be taped and lights should be disabled. No side mirrors will be allowed in the advanced group and must be tapped in novice and intermediate groups.
Side stands should be wired or zip tide up for novice and intermediate group. Prefer they be removed for advanced group. No bikes with center stands will be allowed in the advanced group.
Bikes must have a handlebar mounted kill switch and self closing throttle in good working condition.
Advanced and Intermediate group riders can not have any glycol and/or ethyl based coolant in their bikes.
All wheels/tires must have valve stems and wheel weights must be well secured (duct taped).
License plates need to be removed.
Basic safety wire for all groups for oil fill, drain and filter (silicone can be used in the novice group on oil fill and drain) .
Riding gear requirements:
Helmets must be a full face with shield and damage free. They must be BSI, DOT or SNELL approved
Boots must be a riding type that fully cover the ankle.
Gauntlet style gloves that provide full wrist coverage.
Suits should be one or two piece leathers. Two piece suits must zip together for Novice, Intermediate or Advanced groups. Non leather, such as a ballistic nylon or an AeroStitch are acceptable in the Novice and Intermediate Group only. These too must either be one piece or two piece that zip together. These have to be riding suits that have reinforced and padded critical areas - shoulders, elbows, hips, and knee. No other casual riding apparel will be allowed.
Cancellation and refund policy:
All payments in part or in full are non refundable with the exception of the track day event being canceled.

Ok a question on tech for this trackday. States that Basic safety wire for oil filler, drain plug and oil filter is required. States also that silicone can be used for the drain plug and filler cap in novice instead. Now my 250 ninja has a internal filter with a bolt going thru the end cap holding the filter internaly. I should be able to just use silicone on this bolt as well. It is basically in the same area as the oil drain plug and is not a external filter. Also what type of silicone would be best to use on these bolts????????????????

Just a reminder, we will have Ohlins factory suspension support and Bridgestone tire support, nothing like new tires and a dialed in suspension to top off a great event!

Don't tape the headlight or taillight or you can't ride it over.
But, Yep, I talked with Chris and we'll set a time to met by Wednesday.
Edit: Thanks to you we have a 20' enclosed trailer so we might have room for another bike if you know anyone. That's four so far.

You're a good man helping the girls out like that. You might want to bring some booze with you though, I have a feeling you're gonna need a drink by the time Saturday morning rolls around.

We should have room for 3 more. The trailer I'm using is supposed to carry 8. Got 5 so far. I'll know for sure Tuesday night. I've heard nothing but good things about Pete and his track days so holla if anyone needs help.
Todd (or anyone), do you have an extra brake controller? I have the pidtails and can plug directly into whatever is there (wires, other factor plug etc). I don't have to have one but they are nice. I left mine in my old truck when I traded it in since it was custom molding into the dash.

I didnt use it long before i got the prodigy for my current truck. I just disconnected it and then put it in the cabinet. I think i gave around $50 for it, but you can have the damn thing if you want, its just collecting dust.

I'm a slow poke with other people's stuff ; I'm so slow I look like I'm going backwards.
I just let Chris and Alicia know and gave directions so I'm hoping we'll be able to leave about 2pm to get there early. BTW: I didn't see a RV cord to hook up to the trailer so we can't run the A/C?????? Try to find out if it's hiding somewhere in there or not please and I'll see if I have some scrap plywood and if so I can bring a window unit as a last resort. All my work fans are dead too - bummer.

Todd came up and tried to help a pit buddy with his trailer AFTER riding all day Saturday as a CR.
Bongirl supplied a trailer for everyone to get there.
Chris filled the tank on the way back.
Saw lots of crashes and red flags Saturday.
Rode my firsat sportbike more than 5 minutes.
I'm getting a sportbike as a baby sister for Abby (my Bandit).
I never got a chance to have Todd as a CR but Rick is a hell of an CR. He explains things well and doesn't try to make you ride "in the style" (hanging off). I learned allot while riding a 530 lbs. Bandit (with luggage rack). I was able to transfer what Rick taught me to a '05 GSXR 600 after lunch on Sunday and rode smoother, faster, and in more control than I ever have. Big kudos goes out to him and especially Pete for getting it all together.
Lastly, a big thank you goes out to Chris. You filled the tank in the truck, was a great road companion, and helped get everyone's bike prepped and back to street. It was a pleasure to met you and your family.
These photos might explain all the trouble Saturday - I told them not to hang out near the track
http://s496.photobucket.com/albums/r...010-11%202010/ (http://s496.photobucket.com/albums/rr324/Ga-Bandit/Barber%20Motorsposts%20Park%20July%2010-11%202010/)
Absolutely great weekend, despite the numerous red flags on Sat. At the riders meeting when we asked "how many here have never ridden Barber before?", and close to 50% of the riders raised their hands, i knew we were going to have our hands full (especially since we had quite a turnout of folks from FLA  ). Barber simply is not a track MOST trackday junkies are going to get up to speed to in 2 or 3 sessions, too many blind corners and elevation changes. Quite plainly, it WILL bite you in the ass if you dont respect it. So when we had the first few red flags, i wasnt surprised. All in all tho, everyone played nice, i think out of all the red flags, we only had one injury, one was a "ran out of gas" issue, all the others, i believe, were just people getting in over their head and making mistakes.
X-Act puts on a hell of an event, the price simply couldnt be beat by anyone, the weather (albeit hot as hell) was great! Track got a bit greasy after lunch yesterday in the heat.
Cant wait to do it again!
Joe, Alicia, Jonathan, everyone else, great seeing you guys!! Joe, sorry i couldnt do anything to help with your buddies RV. Also, you are correct, Rick is a hell of a rider, hell of a nice guy, and an excellent instructor. We share alot of the same ideas in the way we try to instruct people. He and i talked a good bit over the weekend.
Oh yea, having ridden EVERY intermediate session, combined with quite a few advanced sessions on Sat., and then all but 2 intermediate sessions, all but 3 advanced sessions, and one novice session with Jonathan, i can honestly say, this old man was absolutely BEAT when i got home, and my muscles are paying for it today.
Oh, on a side note, Terese with Cloud Nine Massage was there, gave me a quickie on Sunday morning to try and loosen up my back, and it worked. I dont think i could have done the entire day without it.
Also, my weekend started off with a de-laminated trailer tire about 5 miles from Barber. Got to the track, put on the spare, prayed that nothing happened on the way home since i only had the one spare. Then, on the way home, about 10 miles from the Anniston exit, another one de-laminated. Got to the Wal-Mart and got lucky that the automotive shop that had closed about 45 mins before i got there, still had guys in it that were nice enuff to mount up the new tire for me. I knew, typically when trailer tires start to do this, as soon as one goes, the rest are soon to follow. Replacing just the one, unfortunately just doesnt cut it. New tires will be going on the trailer this week.
